LM-1 Wideband & RPM Convertor purchase....
I am about to purchase the LM-1 Wideband "kit" with the RPM Convertor.
A couple questions....
1) Anyone know of an authorized LM-1 seller that has it for less than $349.00????? (~10 sites I've seen all have it for the same price... Surely someone has to be selling it for a few bucks less?!?)
2) Anyone have a brief writeup on how to connect the RPM Convertor to the PCM and get a CLEAR signal?
Thanks!!!

You get a 52mm gauge and you dont need the $100 RPM converter. I read awhile back that extreme motorsports sold them for $399. They're $474 now. I am most likely going to purchase the LM-1 if I cant get the dynojet commander for $399.

LM1 is nice,U can remove it and use it on another car and wire in rpm/tps/map/etc via the cable. Its not 349 though, with the cable its 429.95 and I'm gonna try and get one for 400 from a dealer but I dont know if he will give me that price.

I like my Zeitronix. For $409 to the door, it does everything. Lambda, A/F, EGT, Boost ($139 for sensor), TPS, User Input (0-5V), Output (0-5V), Fake O2 output (wouldn't advise that), Cool display with first four parameters listed on the display, logging software, historical graphs.

Just a thought.

HP Turners is coming out with WB band support in there next release. You can connect the wb to the computer and get all the data at once. This is what I will be doing. Therefore you do not need a RPM cable. They will be using the 0 - 5 volt output of the WB.

Based on my tuning experience, you cannot spot things easily with those gauges. Your using them while your hauling *****, your eyes do not have enough time to process anything. I've done the old "wideband while spraying" on my vw, with gauge on dash (which was hard to mount). In the end, it was cool but i felt i spent too much time on the eyes off road. The fundemental flaw was that the unit could not be programmed to shutdown or make a loud enough noise that would signal you to stop, and due to lag,etc its usually just too late.
IME, air fuel gauges are more accurate at stoichmetric than widebands.
another point:
Since the nernst cell must use ion pump and target its a/f ratio instead of being fixed at 14.7:1, it is SLOWER (LM1= 10 samples per second). Lets see 10 ignition events per second? naw i think the lm1 is too slow for anything but a broad sword.
spraying/boosting? Burnt a valve on Cyl1 ,Whoa ,you got two lm-1's to detect that? What are you going to do about bank to bank variances that could be life threatining to the motor.
Best bet is to use the lm-1 with laptop as a logging tool. One bung on each Y portion so you can verify that both banks are str8.
This is based on my road tuning experience yours may be different. I think the rules apply to all cars however. Oh yeah don't get caught Bring a friend to laptop and watch for cops. They aren't amused by tuners.
