Did he forget to lock them or did they just fly off even though they were secured?

i did the same thing. washed my **** and forgot to lock the t-tops. did a run to 100 and the drivers side t-top flew off . sounded like a bomb went off in my car. there were two suburbans behind me and i thought for sure they run them over. double backed and found the t-top in the center divide complete unscathed sans a bit of the weather stripping scuffed up.

I did the same thing on my third gen camaro. I forgot to latch it and drove around most the day like that It finally blew off on the highway about 70mph. T-top survived with some heavy scratches. It put a nice dent in my rear fender that it smacked on the way off tho. You guys got pretty lucky.

I really lucked up on mine i forgot to lock mine in and was cruising at about 45mph and figured i would hit it next thing you know my drivers side flew off went straight up like a helicopter spinning i slammed on brakes before i lost the other. I turned around went back and the thing landed in a bail of hay on the side of the road with no damage lucky me
