Default Finally... New wheels, emblems, more!

Swapped out the stock emblems for some early 70s style Z28 emblems.
Let the rear of the car blank for now, but I have another emblem in case I wanna put it on there. The fenders are drilled and these babies are mounted with the posts and speednuts... no changing my mind this time! It's ok though cuz I love how they look!

And wheels... yeah, they're just stock chrome 5-spokes like you'll see on an SS, but they fit my current budget and look SO MUCH BETTER! BFG KDW tires on them, I like them so far!

Here's the pics!

Under the hood I got my lid re-painted, got that ugly fiberglass piece painted, and installed chrome headlight brackets.

Here's how it came out:

Me = Happy.

Next up... springs, PHR, LCAs.... oh yeah, and new slicks.

nice car...

just a few suggestions...

*fill in the front grille or get a black or billit one, probably a black one would look nice with one of those old school emblems you have...

*remove the octane sticker thing on your outside pillars, i know thats your personal touch, but maybe make a custom engine plaque and put one on there...that would look custom and cool! not an overkill that way...

*do some rear fill ins...i'm doing chrome on mine...these cars just need something back there, too plain...

*put some mothers polish to all the aluminum in your engine bay, do wire/hose hide mod...oh and am i stupid, but i don't see your MAF ends??? maybe its just me...?

where did you get the chrome battery cover? if you made it...what are the dimensions please...and lastely, i think a painted NBM intake would look killer on your ride, then maybe a gloss black TB with chrome components...

LOL. i get carried away, i'm a showcar kinda guy...

I like everyting except the bio-hazzard sticker... Oh, and you could use some Hotchkis springs

Love the wheels and emblems.. engine bay is nice and tidy also although your missing two screws in your radiator core support where the ground wires used to be

Where did you pick up the Z28 emblems from? What year are they for? Do you have a Part Number? Thanks. P.S, the car looks GREAT.

Looks much better, guess you really went ahead and got those rims after you said you were thinking about them, heh.

Thanks for the replies and input!

Yeah, I do plan on Hotchkis springs for lowering. The front was lowered for a while with the adjustable height from the HALs, but I've since raised it. The front really doesn't need much drop, but the rear does.

Grille... SLP bowtie grille is my next choice (yeah it'll be my 4th grille on this car... I am the man of many grilles, lol). I think the red bowtie on it will look nice since the rims have the red bowtie centercaps.

Rear fill-ins? ...look again, there's metallic silver ones on there.

Yeah the engine bay could use some polishing in places. I already have a couple MBA Billet caps for things, and I plan to get all the caps. I will soon be doing the wire mod, so that will help clean it up. All the screws in the engine bay will be re-done once Hilco gets their packages together and ships one to my house.

The MAF ends are there, it's the SLP 85mm MAF which is all black so it kinda hides. I need to get a bellows in there for sure. The intake will be staying black, but I have some fuel rail covers that I'm getting re-painted NBM. Also I'll be getting a ported TB from Janzter which will be powdercoated Navy with chrome bolts and spring. The STB will be getting chromed once the FRCs go back on. I need to look into some sort of head plate, that'd be nice.

The battery and fuse box covers came from Ebay. Nice stuff, and not too expensive. Search for "LS1 cover" they'll show up. As you can kinda see, I used the Optima base mount to attach the battery cover to since the Optima has top posts... works well! The same guy on Ebay also makes a PCM cover now, and I'll be getting that too.

The emblems I picked up at Jennings Chevrolet since I get the MFBA discount there. They are P/N 3981956.

And finally, the Biohazard decals are staying.

Thanks again for your comments and suggestions!

I like the bio-hazard emblems! Makes it yours... and looks good in my opinion. The extremely subtle red on the wheel centercaps and the new retro Z emblems look great over together too! I also like the fact that your calipers aren't red. Your car, to me, has a classy but yet not boring look and is all your own.

nice looks great! always hate when guys do this to me, but I'm going to do it anyway:

here's what I would do:

- drop it ASAP (I waited a long time to do it, sorry I did)
- put the RKSport front spoiler on instead of the stock piece!

just my suggestions, looks fine as is though

Ya know, I've honeslty considered the RK sport front piece, but I decided to just leave it as-is.
BTW mako, your car is really nice! I'm a bit partial to NBM hehe.
