On a more serious note....
The Tornado will fit nicely in the V6 and with me I noticed a 1 to 2 mpg gain in fuel economy.
The LS1 with the SLP lid does not give enough room and unless you have it descreened I do not see how you would get a noticable difference. IMO the Tornado is not worth trying to put in the LS1. With the V6 3800 you will have a slightly better MPG.

why would you want a "tornado" current of air? the whole point of intakes and such are to SMOOTH out the airflow and create the most streamlined surface as possible, that bottom-end of a coke can just creates turbulence, which i cant see much good from....

i dont know about the tornado, but i used a throttle body spacer on my 5.9r/t that i used to have and i did more highway driving with it than city and with that spacer i got another 40-50 miles on a tank

I'm just took an Internal Combustion Engine class (I've got 19 hrs. left till my mechanical engineering degree) at Louisiana State University and turbulent intake air is desired. Turbulent airflow allows for the air molecules to better mix with the fuel...better mixture yields better combustion.

I can see that MAYBE it would help for a carb engine, but for a modern port fuel injected engine?? Is that little tornado going to funnel cloud its way all the way thru the throttle body, then split into 8 equal parts and continue spinning down the intake manifold runners toward each combustion chamber, so that each injector gets a supply of turbulent air to spray with fuel?
Somehow I doubt it

Exactly my point, why try to smooth out the air when it will only get disturbed by the injectors, runners, etc. and thus become turbulent? I see what I think you are getting at--an aftermarket air intake will smooth out the incoming air, purpose being to get laminar flow so that more air can get to the throttle body quicker...if that made any sense. I'm glad it's summertime!!

You want smoth flow right up until the end, so that you can get more air to the engine. The tornado might be helpful in a perfect world, but even if it's spiral is a constructive one, the MAF, air bellows, and TB are going to screw up that spiral anyway, so really all the tornado is doing for you is creating one more restriction.
