If you can make the smaller tread width work, the Hoosier will be the better choice.

Default Help me pick my DOT tire!!! ET Streets vs. Hoosier QTP....tire stats inside!

I'm debating between 3 different D.O.T. tires for the track, and I'm stuck on the decision....Here are the stats:

ET Street 26x11.5-16

Diameter 26.2"
Tread 9.7"
Section 10.8"
Weight 24lbs
Price $177 ea

ET Street 26x10.5-16

Diameter 25.9"
Tread 8.4"
Section 10.3"
Weight 22lbs
Price $166 ea

Hoosier Quick Time Pro 26x9.5x16

Diameter 26.1"
Tread 8"
Section 10.6"
Weight 21lbs
Price $175 ea

I was thinking that since I only have about 360rwhp that I don't need an 11.5 inch wide tire since it is the heaviest and the tallest, and the others will probably provide me with just as much good grip.

My real debate in my mind is between the 10.5" wide ET and the 9.5" wide Hoosier.

The Hoosier weighs a pound less, but it also is taller by .1 of an inch (which really doesn't mean squat). It also costs about $10 more per tire. Will a tire that is only 9.5" wide hook enough at the track??? I've also heard that Hoosiers are just as good or better than ET streets as far as traction, but what about durability???? Will one tire last longer than the other???

Any thoughts???

The Hoosiers will not disappoint you. They do not have the big "name" that M/T's have, but they WORK. Best wishes. WJ.

I went 1.55 60 ft with hoosiers and "only" a best of 1.60 with the equivalent MT et street.....

I liked both but I like the hoosier more...

I ran a 26x11.5 -15 hoosier....

Which Hoosier is comparable to the 26x10.5 15 ET Street?

Both DOT tire and slick?

My ET Streets hit the wear indicators this past weekend

QTP stands for Quick Time Pro I believe...

I'm running the 26X10.5X15 ET streets and they're only 8.3 tread width 25.8" diameter. In 20 passes, I ran 2-3 high 1.5 60ft. and a few 1.7's (AT Carlsbad) and the rest low - mid 1.6's. It's definately NOT enough tire for my combo, TP4400 & 4.10's.

I'm mounting some Hoosier QTP 26X11.5X15 which are 10" tread and 26.4" diameter. I'm hoping to see some gains. And the ONLY reason I'm going with the QTP is because we have to run DOT legal in my class at the GM West Coast Shootout.

On a side note, the Hoosiers rubber is a little more soft and stickier to me. We'll see.

Well.. I'm trying to stay as close to the 26x10.5 ET Street in size. I run Stock Internals, so I don't need to try and push more tire around
