New Best today with help of Tony's KO box
I always wondered why my 1/8 times were consistently better when I speed shifted instead of powershifting first to second. The only thing I could come up with, was that my bullet mufflers were hitting and causing knock retard on hard powershifts. I bought one of NineBall's KO boxes and took it to Atco today along with my Z28 and proved my point. My Z28 now for the first time runs under 7.0 in the 1/8 powershifting first to second. Here is the rest of my new best...
R/T ....... .564
60' ....... 1.480
330 ....... 4.482
1/8 ....... 6.968
MPH ....... 98.83
990 ....... 9.044
1/4 ....... 10.90
MPH ....... 124.84
The DA was -116 on a TAG weather station at 4PM when I made this run.
This is probably the last run I'll make with my two year old set up as there will be different heads and cam on this motor shortly and different rear gear ratio. I've got the suspension dialed in pretty good as today I had 60' times of 1.47 , 1.48 twice , and 1.49 twice. Too bad I missed a gear on the 1.47 launch. That was a 10.8x for sure.

Looks great, and another testamonial that the KO box works <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Too bad you couldn't eek out the 10.89 though.

Nice 60's!! What is your tire, wheel, gear, suspension setup if you don't mind? And what rpms do you leave at?

Awesome Mickey!! Looks like you have the car running STRONG!
What tires/gears are you using now? What cam?
1.48 60' in an M6! <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> I hope to be there REAL soon. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Congrats Mickey! I've always run better ETs speed shifting myself. I also used to get KR at the shifts, but my setup mostly suffered in 3rd gear for some reason. Glad the KO-Box helps!
PS, it should also work on the Z06 so you can powershift it also <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Thank you Pete , Tom , Mike , LS1LT1 and Crazyquick. Tom, you would love Atco. It's bigger than Cecil, but still more homelike than the real big wait in line tracks.Ask Pete, he's getting hooked on the trip down here. Maybe we can all rent it like JS did .
Justin, the key to my 60' times is, your old driveshaft, haha!. That poor bitch has really taken a beating ever since I got it from you. I carry another one just like it in my truck, just in case. 26x10x15 Hoosier slicks on Bogart Force fives. 4.10 Strange 12 bolt , Hals , and rev limiter launches on my two year old Mcleod single, with original disc.
Jason, I still have the Comp 216 , 220 114 cam. The heads are by More and flow 300 on intake and are also two years old. This stuff is all going to change real soon. It's going to be a pretty exotic upgrade on top of this short block, which has Wiseco pistons, Lunati rods, and Scat 3.90" crank.
Tony, I definately see the difference on that first shift with your box. Thanks again. The ZO6? I already powershift that. It likes it ..no problems.
