just wondering

i atleast wanna cut the same 60's on nittos as i did with the 3600vig... provided ill have to feather the brake/gas like the vig...

i just dont wanna loose my low end

Com'on farm boy, be a man and buy some real tires.

Just my guess, but I think you will not do better on nittos and may have a slightly harder time. The YTP 4400 uses its higher STR (i.e. big hit) to get it moving, while the vig has less STR but more low rpm grunt which may be easier to feather in.

still thinking here

i still think i can find the right feather zone to get the nittos to hook... took a few days with the vig, but it was easy

On a car equipped with the correct tires, the TP4400 should CRUSH the Vig 3600 in the 60', 1/8th mile and the 1/4 mile e.t & MPH.

On DR's? It's more of a factor of comparing your driving before and after the verter' swap, rather than comparing converters.

Get some tires that can handle the TP4400 and go enjoy your verter how it was meant to be enjoyed.

Good luck

John I dissagree (CRUSH implies killing the VIG and thats not a real fair statement)
I have only 5% slippage right now comming from my VIG 4000 not to mention it cuts 1.47 to 1.49 60fts in a 3600lb CAR.

Drop my weight to your 3200 and I would think LOW 1.4's would be the norm? But I think the Yank will out MPH the Vig.I'm gonna try a TP4600 down the road just to find out.

I agree with Joel. The PT4400 is the best of both worlds. It hits hard AND charges equally as hard on the top-end!
JS - The Vig 4000 hits very hard, but the one I had in my T/A was VERY inefficient. How's 38 RWHP gained by locking the converter sound? It would hit hard, but it was over after that. It was flashing over 5,000 RPM behind my 383, and it was too much converter. How much power did you gain w/ the converter locked on the dyno?

Not sure at this point (Michael's shrugging his shoulders) Only way to see is to take this new verter to the track and see what its got. I have not changed a thing on the car other than the verter. We'll see. If it dosen't hang with my old Vig, it will come out....

i mean wilwaxu's pulled on me like he was spraying a 50shot or so.. and he even gave me the kick.. its nothing wrong with the vig.. love it to death.. if it made a little more power in the midrange-top i wouldnt trade it for the world..

keep the info coming

98TAutto your know the 4400 or so has to be a better converter for the track because some of the fastest cars in the country are using those verters. I don't about using the Nitto's with it, you taught me a thing or two about the Nitto's. I too, I was scared I may break my rearend because of the added HP of the H/C job. But sometimes you want to know, how fast will this baby go. Base on that, as soon as I get the funds, I am going to buy some slicks and see what it will do. Some people from this forum run from 1.50 to 1.60 base on statements and sig's. The best I have mustard is 1.630. I believe you could do better than your best because of your driving skill and advise you have given't me on your Nitto's. I appreciate your help, and by the way, how con ya don't talk in complte sentencs, ha.ha.

My new Hoosier slicks should be in this week. Got a convoy going next weekend to Silver Dollar Raceway next weekend. This should be intresting. Been doing a few roll off's and I cannot "feel" a difference between the two converters. Seems as if the Vig pulled just as hard. I ran the #7 for 13 months. Wish I had my slicks to try and launch this thing. Results next week, stay tuned!
