It still looks pretty good without the rear seats. Lots of room to put groceries and stuff.

Yeah, with the exception of the bolt "platforms" for the lower seat buckets... everything is carpeted. Had mine out since it was new <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Great place to carry ET Streets <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Hi WILWAXU. What's the weight savings w/back seat removed, & is it a big deal time-wise to remove it? Thanks. WJ. ttt <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Doesn't take that long to remove, and I think its like 29 pounds when its all out and the seatbelts are like another 10 pounds total...

I took my back seats out yesterday and to cover up the humps where the seat bottoms were sitting on, I Covered it nicely with electrical tape. I then took the rear mats and covered the big dip to give it a cleaner look. It looks good.
No pics now. Need to get digital camera!

Total weight savings in my 99 SS was 36 lbs.

That's with the removal of the seat back (heavy), lower seats and the seat belts. I did that at the track.. went from 12.31@111 to a 12.25@112 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

When I bought the formula.. the seats were out at 500 miles <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I cut the brackets that stick up off the car all together as well as all the bracketry for the seat belts when I removed all that a couple weekends ago. I shaved the floorpan with a finishing tool so it is smooth in that area. I might take a really thin piece of aluminum for weight savings and weld over the top of the recessed part that the seat sat in to make it look smooth across. I guess I'll decide closer to the time that I get my carpet done. Just an idea hope it gives you some direction.
