Hi all, I'll be shopping for a LS1 car soon, and I'm partial to the Firebirds. So here's my dilemma, I want a WS6 for the better performance, but I dont like the ground effects of the Trans Am as much as the cleaner lines of the Formula. So, if you were to take a stock 02 m6 Formula vs a stock 02 M6 WS6, how much would the Formula lose by (e.t. wise, no "it'd be close" kinda answers)? Also, does the WS6 come with any kind of handling improvements over the Formula/non-WS6 T/A, outside the larger tires? If so what types, whats different? Also, does anyone have any pics of Sunset Orange Metallic Firebirds? And any pics of them with 315's on the back?

Oh yeah, I also was wondering what the NHRA package is on the Formula. What all is included in it? Just performance stuff? Or Appearance stuff? Anyone have this package on thier car?

flip a coin, those are the differences in the 2 et/speed wise.

I agree that the formula is the better looking of the 2, and when they came out w/ sunset org, I almost went to buy a formula hawk hardtop.

NHRA package is just stickers and stuff.

That would be a pretty rare car (SOM formula), especially as a hardtop.

Cool, I was kinda after a rare car just cause I don't want something everyone else has(no offense anyone, but black WS6's. theres alot of them here). I also love the Sunset Orange, I'd have to go with T-tops though. Sucks that you can't order a WS6 Formula anymore(why the hell not is what I wonder). So what about the handling stuff. Does the WS6 have any special handling stuff done to it besides the bigger wheels/tires?

The WS6 gets a bigger front sway bar. If you like the Formula better, I would just get a Formula and buy the hood. But good luck getting a SOM one. As far as I know, they have stopped production on SOM Firebirds. Atleast on the WS6s they have.

I would have to say that the 2 would be dead even with the same driver. Stock for stock, the ws6 may have a few more ponies (because of the better exhaust, but you'll probably change either anyways) and the formula is (suposidly, I haven't weighed them) a little lighter.

I, myself, got a formula because you don't have to get the piece of crap leather seats in it (I had a T/A before, so I know).

I think the WS6 does have a little handling advantage besides bigger wheels, but I can't remember why. Of course you could get the formula firehawk and get the looks of the formula, bigger wheels, cat-back, and with the 1le suspension, better handling. Something to think about.

Formula= less weight.. better drag car..

but its only gonna be 1-2 tenths max difference, but he it adds up..

if you get a formula, just get the WS-6 hood and riased air box... or just slap FTRA or whisper ram air on it.. and mula... you have RAM AIR <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

both are probably upper 12-13.3 cars stock
