Default I went from 13.3 to 17.5 ask me how!!

Yeah you read that right, anyone who went to Capitol Friday night probably saw me. The right lane was horrible plus I'm still on Eagle f1's but here's what happened. I launched at 2000 spun of the line and then power shifted into 2nd. Bad idea. Spun sideways and finally got it straight the powershifted into 3rd. Bad idea again, I almost went into the other lane and when I finally got it straight again I just costed to the end. I ran again but only got a 14.1 My mods on my 13.3 run was just a power programmer from Hypertech and this time out to the track I have since added a G2 Lid, SLP Loudmouth, and did the EGR and Throttle Body bypass. Anyway I'm not going back before I get Drag Radials but here is my question. My best trap before was 107mph. I had a trap of 108 this time while losing 8 tenths. I'm obviously making more power right?? with traction should I get 12's?? Thanks guys.

traction traction traction! you need a good set of tires to plant the power to the track...Nittos Drag Radials/BFG Drag Radials/ET Streets....and then of course once you have this new traction your stock clutch isnt going to like it so once you replace that with something that grabs....your rear-end isnt going to like it! and then....ohhwell you get my point

I have no idea what all mods you have, but..
After you get the tires invest in a torque arm and trailing arms/panhard rod. Then 1" lowering springs, that will help from "squating" on take off. Get good shocks!

Then as the $$$ builds back up get some Sub-frames. Stuff of this natural will help your 1/4 miles times more than regular bolt-ons. You gotta hook up more if you want to improve your times.
Way to many people neglect the suspension.

Lowering springs will not help your car launch. Try a set of adjustable Hal struts w/ the stock springs, and it will do wonders for launch ability. It did on my car. I'm still running the stock tq. arm, stock PHR, and LCA's. I'm not having any problems.

Make sure not to jerk the steering wheel around during shifts

Lowering springs will not help launching, and I agree a set of HALs all the way around would GREATLY help. As would a set of LCAs, Panhard Bar and a Tq. Arm.
However, I think a set of sticky tires and a good clutch should be on the "do do first" list

The only time I have ever seen that much of a time difference was when a freind of mine had a z28 and he bought a mustang.... thats about the only way I could see that much of a difference in times......

I hate to chime in like the bad guy, but **** like this pisses me off. When you start to get out of control, let off the damn gas and give up on the run. The comment about almost going into the other lane is just dangerous. Let off, come back and try it again...

That being said, traction is key. I had the same problems and have most of the suspension goodies. Nittos sorta solved the problem, but ET STreets are in the future...

It is just fun and games when you are in the 13 second range.... when you go into the 11 sec range it gets more serious and takes more driving skills. I personally don't see anything wrong with having a little fun everynow and then, just don't take it to EXTREMES.
