Default 11.55@116 with H&C, is this low MPH?

I understand that it is a different time of the year, but that is what I got with the car last year, before H&C, although a few lbs lighter last year, and it was colder last year. This run was with temp about 70, and car about 3400-3450. I'll have to weigh it to be sure. It just seemed low to me.

Seems low to me. I ran 12.24 at 114 with a stock motored 02 Z28 in March 2002.

Maybe some else can help you out. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

What heads/cam setup are you running? Have any dyno figures or tuning done?

I ran 11.60's@116 so I'd say the mph mates up correctly.

Black Sunshine/ 00SS didnt you have a 3200 pound raceweight when you went 11.49? Do you know the DA at that time? What was the DA for these times and mphs?

Base upon this time of year even with H/C job, your times seem to be well within the range. My car runs anywhere from 113 to 117 depending upon weather mostly and wheels I am running at the time. My fastest MPH is 117.75 for the quarter. I am hoping to go higher by Porting and Polishing my throttle body and removing a little weight off of my car. With the times listed above, the only weight reduction was spare tire and jack and running skinnies. I believe in the right weather, faster 60' time, little weight reduction, and a little tweaking--the car is capable of 117-119 range. Hopes this helps.

My E.T.s are a bit low but I blame it on the street tires ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Well when i was running 110 traps and sprayed a 75 shot in 2-3 i picked up to 116 so your MPH is about right to me.

116-118 is about average for a A4

i only trap 112-113 now with stock internals

weather will have a big role in your MPH this time of the year also! more than likely around fall you would see 118 or better

Some of the best bolt on cars make the most mediocre head/cam cars. Not sure why.

You need to dig up the weather conditions for bolt-on run and the current run and estimate the change in DA. How did the 60' & 1/8 compare?

If the air was good on your H&C run, I'd say you're a bit low. If it was warm & humid you're fine. Have you done any tuning yet? Can be .1 & 1-2 mph there.

I think you need to look at weather as well.
I had a great day yesterday (DA around 1000feet which is awesome for St. Thomas) and ran 4 122mph passes and a traction limited 11.78 ET (1.79 sixty)
Have you dyno tuned the car?
Cheers,
Chris

We have been getting alot of rain up here. I dont know what the DA was for that day, but it was the first nice day we have had, so I went. I'm still learning about the DA thing, and how all that relates. If it's nice out, & the car is ready, I go racing...

Other guys there said their times were down also. So, I guess I still need more testing to figure this thing out. Dont worry Terry, this mediocre head & cam car will pull 10's on motor, by the time I am done.

I am running ARE stage 2 heads, & TR 224 on a 112. Just had wideband dyno tuning, before the track times, & pulled 380 HP with great A/F ratio, & then pulled 480 with a 100 shot, that we managed to jet up to be a bit rich, to be on the safe side. 0 KR. The graph looks good, but I think there is more there somewhere, so time to get more schooled with LS1 edit, & bring it out.

I'm going to weigh the car today. It is def heavier, but not by a tremendous amount. I could drop another 100 lbs of her, easy. Might do that next time, then just be satisfied with 10's on spray, until the cold & dry weather gets gets here. Thanks for the tips everyone. Project 10 sec NA goes back to the drawing board...

A good density altitude calculator to use is http://rshelq.home.sprynet.com/calc_da.htm. It takes into account actual altitude. You can get historic weather conditions at www.wunderground.com. The DA for me yesterday calculates to just a hair over 1,500', and I ran an 11.66 @ 116 MPH with a 1.638 60' time. I could've had 11.5's if it would've hooked! The raceweight was 3,510#, and I'm running stock heads w/ the Comp XE-R 224 cam on a 112 LSA. It sounds a bit low to me, but I'd like to see your DA first. Was the 380 RWHP locked or unlocked? I managed 361 RWHP unlocked and 380 RWHP locked, FWIW.

The 380 was unlocked. I'm going to make up a lockup switch, for tuning purposes.
