SLP's Loudmouth sounds good and loud on the stock manifolds.
If you plan on doing headers, it will be insanely loud with the Loudmouth and the rasp is almost intolerable. I added a Dynomax bullet to mine and it sounds much better now. It also got rid of most of the rasp.

ok, if you just want loud and flows well... two things
Long tube headers, x-pipe, no cats, loudmouth (bullet Mufflers)
or
OPEN HEADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
those three are loud, flow well and super raspy. but the open headers no cats and loudmouth is the worst

I think it is funny he is getting suggestions like open headers
00sskillstang... Boss, we're kinda funnin' on you... open headers would make your car sound like a NASCAR. For real. So unless you fully understand how loud that is, and that is defintiely what you want, don't do it.

to give you an idea on how loud open headers are...
me and my bud's project turbo minivan has open headers- you can hear it literally 3 miles away! (that's the distance from his house to mine) and that's just a (1.6L? I forget ) 4cyl chrystler engine- nothing compared to a 5.7L 8cyl.
then again, I'm going with open headers on my finished car- though mine is a dedicated weekend cruiser/track car when it's complete.

Open headers is the ABSOLUTE loudest. I use LT's through an ORY out a cutout. Sounds good at idle, but SCREAMS when you crack into it! If you want sound, I would go with duals dumped before the axle, cutout route for volume. It's all what you want.

I'm pretty sure that loudness works in this order:
1) Open headers
2) Headers, no cats, duals or cutout
3) Headers, cats, duals or cutout
4) Stock manifolds/cats, cutout
5) Stock manifolds/cats, loudmouth catback
Oh, a bigger cam helps too...

i have lt's, off road x pipe, and bullets (2.5 inch x and bullets) dumped at the axle, and its pretty ******* loud. Sounds good though. I ran open headers just down from the shop to the store to get the guy helping me with the install some smokes...its crazy loud, just doesn't sound right to me.
also had lt's, 3inch yp ipe no cats, through a cut out...sounds great too, especially when paired with a hooker catback. great tone still (i had a manual cut out so some exhaust still went through the catback to give it the tone).
