Default 4L60E Stuck in Fwd AND Rev!

Tranny is only 1 month from the shop after being rebuilt. Driving along and it seems like the brakes are dragging. Did a little troubleshooting and found out if I put it in Neutral it rolls fine. Put it back in any gear and the harder I accelerate, the harder it holds back. By the time I got it home (shoulda towed it), It was taking 3-4K RPM to get it up my inclined driveway. Talk about a burnt smell!! I drained some fluid out and you should have seen the pretty colors! It looked like that color changing paint. Aluminum. The shop's gong to replace the tranny but I was just wondering if anybody knew what could have happened? Just wanted to satisfy my curosity.........

Did you have any codes? Are you sure it wasn't starting out in 3rd gear(loss of electrical power, or bad 3-2 solenoid), making it feel like the brakes were dragging? Eventually it will burn the trans out.

Maybe they gave you their secret prototype 4L60e transbrake.

Good to hear that the shop is taking care of you.

No it shifted fine, just severely dragging.
I did get out today and talked to another tranny shop and they something about welded planetaries. Never heard that one before now. I checked and my cooler lines ARE clear but with all that metal it's gonna take a LOT of flushing, maybe even replacement of my aux cooler.

Yeah, all fwd gears are affected, reverse was too just not as bad. Probably because of the gearing.
