Yank ss3800 or TCI ssf3500
Well I want to get on a gp for one of these, but I'm torn. I really wanted the yank coverter, but right now you can get the TCI for under $500! While the yank sits close to $900. I know there will be similar gains, although the yank is a bit more efficient. Whats the general opinion on this situation.

I would go with the TCI. The TCI 3500 is a proven performer and a great value and IMO is the best ~ 3500 rpm converter on the market for the LS1. TCI also has outstanding customer service.

I would get the 3500 and use the other $166 or so on something else, the 3500 seems to be a pretty well proven converter.

i love my ssf 3500, no problems at all, and it feels tight. I cut 1.6 60's on a car with headers, air lid, and nitto's. I run 7.9 1/8th and 12.5 in the 1/4. The nittos and the SSF took 7 tenths off my time.

your also in texas (my home state) where the elevation is ****. im up in the hills of kentucky now. the point is, one of these convertors isnt any better than the other. they are both realy good. one is just 300 bucks less.

Man this is a tough decision. I keep going back and forth. If I were to get the TCI I'm worried that I might keep wondering if I should of got the yank. I mean it's a 9.5 inch converter, 21 blade strator, more efficient, and its general more streetable but may produce slightly better numbers at the track. I want to pick the right one the first time.
It seems if money was not a factor people would have probably opted for the Yank converter.
On a side note GM high tech performance has a bolt on ls1 running 12.3's with the ssf3500. But would it of been better with the Yank?
