Heads & Cam Runs At 5000ft DA!!
REMEMBER This is at 4930ft above Sea Level D.A.!!
Do to the number of people, and the wait to get through the gate we were only able to get 2 passes last night The only na pass we made was a 12.1@119.x The vette spun pretty hard, then passed the 60' it bogged, so I know 11.8s should have been no problem with more practice.
For pass #2 we decided to spray the TNT 100 shot with about 1000-1050 psi of bottle pressure. I set the window to not spray until 3800rpm so it would have somewhat of a rolling chance, for the most part that worked & the vette ripped a 1.6x short time!! The stock fuel pump was definately not liking the nitrous to much, as it was missing up top so I had to short shift every gear pretty bad The lady at the timeslip booth handed me the slip and I about crapped my pants right there! 10.80@130!! Nothing wrong with them apples!
Altitude corrected thats a easy 11.40 or so NA <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Thats a strong Heads & Cam Car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Still haven't bought gears for it, and its still running a C5 tranny instead of the Z06 tranny <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Well now I know the car makes the power that I was hoping it would, so now back to the fuel drawing board. We will be installing a Racetronics/Walbro fuel pump this week & dynoing the setup next weekend in Dallas @ LG. Here is a rundown of the specs from the car.
99 Hard Top Corvette
www.jperacing.com
Speedaholics Stage 2 Heads
2.055 1.57 Valves 918 Springs
JPE Racing FU-2 228 Cam
TPIS Headers
MTI X Pipe
Borla STREET Exhaust
LS6 intake
ASP Pulley
1/2 MSD Wires 1/2 Taylor Wires
Tuning will be done next weekend
Things we still have to do:
JpeRacing Ported Throttle Body
Work on MAF a little
Fuel Pump
Line Lock
Jet Up to 150

Congrats, Jason. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
I was racing so I missed your runs <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> , but my friends said you were hauling ***!!
Let me know when you are going to LG, I'd like to get my car dynoed and do a little tuning too.
I forsee low 10's when you get everything lined out.

Re: Heads & Cam Runs At 5000ft DA!!
What the heck were the weather conditions to come up with a DA of 5000ft?
BTW, nice runs. Not too shabby at all for a new combo!

I knew that car was easily pulling as hard as your T/A did w/ the 422 when I rode in it last week w/ the 100 shot! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> To hit 10's on your first bottle pass in the car is friggin' awesome! People don't understand that trapping over 119 MPH at Idalou Raceway is a HUGE feat! I can't wait to get it to the Motorplex next weekend, especially with at least a 150 shot. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I think it all had to do with the Spark Plug Wire Combo!!! <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
What are the specs on the JPE Racing FU-2 228 cam?

Re: Heads & Cam Runs At 5000ft DA!!
I always seem to miss the good Lubbock racing action! Yea the air here isn't great at all and 5000 DA is about the lowest I've seen, lol... Very good results for the first time out. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
The FU-2 camshaft is a 228/228 .588"/.588" 111.5 lsa, Jason came up with the specs. and it does real well. I've got another project that this cam may be going in also, but it will have valve-reliefed pistons also.

Thank you Mr. Monkey <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
The FU-2 does have 584 lift, but there is also a FU-1 with XE lobes on the exhaust side for stock piston cars <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Look for dyno numbers next week <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
