Default ET Drags = bog

Looking for suggestions. I was running 26x10.5 ET Streets, normally at about 12-13 psi and could manage 1.78-1.80 60foots when I dumped it at 5grand. Worked pretty well, but they were inconsistent in hooking and were 3 years old. When they wore out I decided to get myself some 26x10 ET DRAGS. Tried them out at US41 on Saturday. Well even at 17-18 psi, I would dump the clutch at 5grand and the car would BOG. Couldn't do better than a 1.85 'cause of that. Granted, I've only been to the track once with the new setup, but i'm looking for suggestions on a different way to launch/stage/setup whatever. Obviously one fix would be more gear/horsepower , but my wallet won't allow that right now.

25 psi with a good burnout and a 6Krpm launch

Lift straight off the clutch as fast as you can and floor the gas at the same time
Less shock on the drivetrain, and you wont bog like sidestepping either
Cheers,
Chris

Louis - Who would think a Road Racer would know about Drag Racing. haha, i thought they would hook a bit better. I only got 4 or 5 runs in, but only got 2 good runs 'cause the other times I got in the burnout box sideways. First and best run was a 12.69 @ 110.3 (1.85 60').

By side stepping, he means just that, taking your foot and moving it to the dead pedal on the left. If you just release your leg upwards, you actually slip the clutch a little rather than dumping it.
