Default MTI S2 LS1/X1 Cam results inside... Head Flow Numbers, etc!!

Before anything: Jayson at MTI tuned the car so Ill be EXTREMELY safe for running 150 shot of Nitrous, So i lost a significant amount of power..Numbers were made through my 12 Bolt with STOCK PULLIES, STOCK EXHAUST, NO FREE MODS, NO MAF, in other words: I havent completed my full bolt ons...

Well my car dynoed 326.9 RWHP and 330 RWTQ before the X1 Cam and S2 LS1 Heads...

After H/C: 1st Pull: 393.6 RWHP and 362.0 TQ
2nd Pull: 405.1 RWHP and 375.9 TQ
(Locked Converter)

100 SHOT OF COLD BOTTLED JUICE (850 PSI:
482.9 RWHP AND 419.6 TQ

MY MODS: MOSER 12 BOLT w/373,
MAC MIDLENTHS
VIG 3000
T-REX FUEL PUMP
SLP LID/FILTER

Heads at .600 flowed at 286.3 INT and 210.5 EXH
STOCK # .600 flowed at 233.3 INT and 180.0 EXH

COMMENTS
I know people are making more power with their packages but i dont have Full boltons yet. As I said, i lost alot of power bc I am tunned to run safely on Nitrous...Bottle was not heated, just filled and dynoed..

COMPLIMENTS
MTI overall is an awesome company and AWESOME service..Two Big Thumbs up for them THE CAR RUNS LIKE A BEAST!!!!!!! When I was there there were TONS of VIPERS, PORSCHES, TRANSAMS, CAMARO's, I didnt think it was that big(Wish they would let me videtape, but they were strict!)

NOTE: So you can know: A friend dynoed 310 to the wheels and I dynoed 326, after the exact packge HE dynoed 420 RWHP and i only dynoed 405 to the wheels: Just so u know how much I lost with the tuning..My good bud gained 110 RWHP with his package

Sorry for so long I thought some of you might like this information if ur looking into getting this package..ITS definately worth It and the car runss SSTRONG!! Track times will be coming soon and I thought I would share my experience

BTW: I drove the car 6 hours home nonstop wiht NO problems..MTI

Are those flow numbers with the intake on?

They look weak for an up to date Stage 2 port job.

If they are with the intake on then they are great

Cheers,
Chris

Nice numbers. Now go take it to the track and see what kind of numbers it puts down. Those are the numbers that really count...

So you sprayed a 100 shot and picked up 89.3rwhp???? Hmm.... ok. I know a lot of the Stage-2 setups are flowing 300+cfm as well.... sounds a little low to me.

Anyway... congratulations, I'm glad to hear that you're happy. Let's see what it runs at the track, because you and I know dyno numbers only mean so much.

Holy geezus.... I just noticed something. You only made 362rwtq on motor, and then made 419rwtq on the spray??

Shouldn't the torque numbers be higher???? I'd take a look at some of the other nitrous cars that are running around and see what they say.... that sounds incredibly low to me.

.... and that could entirely be true. That's why I simply asked a question, and am waiting on the owner of the car to answer.

No Guys , my torque with 100 shot was 419.6

Like i said Stock my Torque was 330, after h/c w/ converter locked was 375.9, and on 100 shot it was 419.6 <----Again,

I dont know what would have been the outcome if he wouldve heated up the bottle since it was cold..But my Torque is incredibly LOW! Could it be my small 3000 Stall, or my Nitrous Works Kit??I think Nitrous Works is an OK kit but it should be in the 500+ RWTQ, someone please help, any input would be appreciated..

BTW: My car is a full weight 2002 35th Anniversary SS(Power Everything/T-Tops)..If Im not dreaming that this is my actual Torque on NITRO, then Im hoping to go to the track Friday and show everyone that torque numbers on the dyno doesnt mean anything either, and to come back with a 10 second Timeslip

Do you have cats on??

The way these h/c cars are progressing nowdays, I wouldnt be suprised to see your N20 numbers on a M6 346 For now I say forget about the dyno and go get some track times

Well, to be honest I don't think it has anything to do with your converter or the bottle. The torque that you pick up from the nitrous would be more than 80 ft/lb's even if you only had 600lbs of bottle pressure.

You're right though, a heads/cam/gas package should be able to run 10's all day long. I just hope that yours will. A friend of mine had a heads/cam/gas package from MTI and his car made 550rwhp/600+ft/lbs of torque, and this was back in 1999 when LS1 head-porting was still at a VERY early stage!

It could be anything to be honest with you.... but that's my viewpoint. Most of the heads/cam cars I've seen on this board are about 410-415rwhp/390rwtq (and you're not very far off). But, your nitrous numbers should be substantially higher.

Now.... I just hope that it was a fluke and you really do get a 10-second timeslip. You deserve it after spending all that money!

Take Care,

E

No Cats on my Car, ORP....

I hope to see a 10 second timeslip,, I spent 6,650 dollars for the H/C package installed, and a T-Rex Fuel Pump. Before I was hitting 12.50's, and after H/C and 150 shot Im hoping to go 10's.

Moderators: Please dont lock this thread I need information on what could be the problem, can move to the lounge but please dont lock it

But oh well Friday is Track Day and well see what happens..
