UN-LOWER car for better 60's?
I have the Eibach Pro-Kit on my car and I am now starting to have traction problems on the juice and will soon have even more power (new heads/cam and 150hp wetkit) so traction will be worse.
Currently I am using an airbag in the passangerside spring, no front sway bar, 26x11.5x15 ET Streets, Spohn adj. TQ arm, everything else is stock.
I'd really like to get some wheels up launches but not if it is going to slow me down.
My best 60' N/A was 1.58 and on juice (only made 4 runs on bottle) was 1.62 (spun some).
So should I raise the car back up on stock springs with good shocks/struts? Or should I do a Drag Launch kit?

i have 27.3" ET Drags (28x9) on my lowered 1.5" TA. it fits fine, except you need to bang in the front of the wheelwell (very very minute) if you even need to. 26" Drags or Streets are EASILY fitted. in fact stock is 25.75" overall.

They fit fine. Every once inawhile I hit but rarely. I had the 16" version of this trire also and never had any issues with it.
I have the Pro-kit on my car but it lowered it quite a bit.
Hard to see here but this is how it sits on street tires. The ET Streets fill up the well a bit more.

I guess there are many opinions on this, but mine is that if you lower the car, you reduce the weight transfer to the rear tires when you get on it since its lowered and the springs are more compressed.. basically the weight stays on the front. am i wrong by thinking this??

so does anyone think it is a waste of a good thing to go back to stock springs? i am also tired of scraping and banging my headers on speedbumps. or should i just keep working on my launches? i pull 1.64 at a decent track but never lift a tire.

I just "unlowered" my car. I had Hotchkis drop springs. I cut 1.59,1.64, and 1.67 60's last week with her lowered. I will let you know what I cut on the stock setup next week.
Sweet car BTW.

Scott,
So you think that I could keep my springs but use Hals front and rear and maybe add the BMR DragRace anti-roll bar?

Thx for the props on the car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Terry, did you ever try the ET Streets? I really like the Hoosier QTPs in the 16" size so I was thinking of going with the full on drag tire to fit my 15" Welds.
gator's 99TA,
Please do let me know how it works out for ya.

Oh yeah, it is like a luxury having the car back to stock height. Now I can drive the car to autozone instead of my wife's. Seems like my y pipe would drag everytime i pulled in somewhere.

I (unlowered) my car by removing weight. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
The hal's made a big difference. The fronts are probably all you need though.
Use the 15" tire/rim combo and fyi the Hoosier QTP's worked just as well as the full slick for me.
When does the track get good at sac? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I got Hals and stock springs... best of both worlds IMOP, adjustable height, and adjustable shock..
Low setting for the track (weight transfer is great) turn it up for the street and the stock shocks still give a great ride..
