I have a 200-4R and shift points are calibrated with the governor in which I dont have the exact rpm in which it shifts at, so by the tach, it looks to be around 6500/6600. However, my rev limiter is set at 6700 and my tranny tends to shift a little over from time to time especially if my tires are spinning. I just think theres not enough space in between the shift points and rev limiter and was wondering if I would be ok to raise it? I was thinking maybe 6900/7000. I dont plan to pull those kind of rpms, just wanting to give my tranny a little room for over shift so that I dont hit the limiter. Thanks.

Oh, sorry forgot to mention. Manley springs, chromoly hardened pushrods, and titanium retainers with MTI C2 cam.

i wouldnt ....id set it at 6600 until you build the bottem end or get some ARP rod bolts.

Set it at 6800 and you'll be fine...

M6HuggerSS: My current rev limiter is set at 6700, why would I go lower? My shift points are roughly 6500/6600. If I had the limiter set at 6600, I would definately hit it every time. Im not sure how accurate 4L60Es are, but my tranny (200-4R) sometimes over-shifts.

JS: So you think 100 more rpms will do it? Right now they are at 6700 with roughtly 6500/6600 shift points. I just want to allow enough room for over-shift so that I dont hit the limiter. Not only is it embarassing hitting the limiter, but it hurts my time as well.

Yea,I think another 100rpm should do the trick.

I just want to make sure that another 100 rpms will be enough because its such a far drive to get tuning for my car. (MTI-45 mins. to an hour) I plan change cams as well and I dont know if its going to need more rpms in which Im going to need to raise my shift points and have to raise my limiter again. For now, Im just worried about the cam I have in there now.
