Launching at 5k and still bogging
Ok guys heres a question for ya. I have taken my car to the track the last two weekends and my best 60ft so far has been 1.83. I took my front sway bar off and have launched at 5k, when i got the 1.83, but yet my car still boggs from the line. I have all the suspension mods listed in my sig, but for some reason I cannot get my car off the line like I want to. My pinion angle is set to -2 right now, I going to get some Hals for the front put on this weekend, which will help some but not sure if its just tire pressure or pinion angle. At my last run my tire pressure was at 15 lbs on et streets. I tired putting more air in them at 18lbs but still same thing, if i get to 20lbs then i spin like hell.
Any suggestions,
Thanx,
Nakoz

Ride the clutch out just a little bit. I have a m6 and 3.73s in my moser and make less power then you and I am able to put down 1.60 60's. I tach it up to 5000, let the clutch out just enough so that it is dragging, but not enough to move the car, then slowly but quickly let the clutch out an go.

I also have a loaded race weight of 3870 in my vert ws6. I dont recommend just dumping the clutch, though. Try all kinds of different things. Like I said, dumping doesnt always work the best and is definately not the best for any part of the drivetrain. A quick slip works best for me.

The front shocks might help. Which holes are you using on the LCA brackets? Use the bottom ones. And you can try installing a heavier flywheel. It's not a cheap solution, but it increases your inertia a LOT on launch!

This is w/ my tr224 cam, jethot LT w/ true duals, ftra, stock heads, stock 3:42 gears and m/t et streets, launching between 3500-4k slipping the clutch and tire pressure was @ 15 psi, pinion angle @ -3. If I had a 12 bolt rear end I would launch it @ the limiter slipping the clutch a little . Hope that helps

Thanx for all the suggestions guys. Ill try slipping the clutch a little more, and to answer a few questions. I already have 4.10 gears. I have tried launching at 5500 before. Even once off the rev limiter when i was fully stock (*it pissed me off that night*) My MPH is a little low sitting at 112 at the 1/4. I already have my LCA's in the bottom hole. Thanx for all the suggestions, i guess i will need to lighten the car a little 3800 is way too heavy. But my car looks and sounds completely stock. I always like a sleeper car. Thanx again fellas, and advice helps.

Try being a lil less agressive on the burnout so the tire doesn't stick as hard..
If you don't mind abusing the car though, put another vote for launching off the limiter in from me

what does the weight of your car have to do with it? my 01 ws6 is not much lighter then stock 40 or 50lbs at most. i lonch at 6,000rpm's and hit 1.6's all night on stock shocks. hell...i even hit a 1.59 best 60 foot once.i run my m&h tires at 16lbs with no trouble. i am swaping in hals next week to get 1.5 all day,(i hope) but my car weighs 3,800lbs with my fat *** in it.

Man thats awsome!!!! 3800 race weight and still cutting low 1.6 60ft. Damn i wish i could do that too!! Does you car bogg from the line too, or does it come straight off the line and the front end never drops. Its just really weird and I cant place my finger on it.

If you're launching at 5k with your mods and cant do better than a 1.8x 60', something else is the problem. I've cut 1.7x 60s launching at 4000rpm...but I didnt dump it, you've got to let it out quick and easy.
