non-turbo supra runs 10's???
this guy wants to run me for 2g's says his supra can run 10's . I am pretty sure he can't. anyone think he can. I know supra turbos can run 10's fairly easily but not just a regular supra...right?

Re: non-turbo supra runs 10's???
Its possible, considering how far Power House Racing was able to take the 2JZ-GE NA supra(800+hp). But nonetheless, I'm pretty sure its safe to go ahead and call ...
"In 1994, a time before the popular import market, PHR developed and marketed the very first line of turbo conversion kits for the Non-Turbo Supra. In 1997, we were featured on the cover of Super Street Magazine with our then-famous 800 Horsepower NA Supra. PHR went on to set several Horsepower and 1/4 mile records with this car, before turning more of our attention to it's older brother, the Supra Twin Turbo. Unfortunately, due to slowing sales, PHR discontinued production of our Non-Turbo conversion kits in the year 2000."

Re: non-turbo supra runs 10's???
I know of two N/A Supras in the 10's. One N/A SC300 soon will be in the low 9's. Of course, they are now turbocharged. Be careful how the guy words "N/A". It may have started that way, but may not be that way now...

Ask around town. Investigate...See if he is BSin. More than likely he is , but you never know. So snoop around a little. There is a guy out here with a 10 sec. 87' supra , but it has a chevy drivetrain with twin thunderbird turbos and DFI. Super fast on the big end.

Jeff, first of all, did you do some intel on this so called 10 sec. racer? Does he know anything about engines etc... or is he loaded to be able to produce such a monster?
He probably has a H U G E shot of NAWZ POWAH on that baby Watchout

Re: non-turbo supra runs 10's???
got some new info on this guy: found out just by talking to him that he is the kinda guy that if you want him to belive you run 12's or 13's you have to say you run 9's or 10's . that should say it all . but the other variable is if he will come here to race me or not. he lives kinda far away. if you want to hear the long version just reply.

Re: non-turbo supra runs 10's???
long story short:
him: "my car runs 10s <insert more here>"
you laugh at him.
you tell him what yur car runs.
he doesn't belive how fast yur car is.
you: "lets set up race"
him: "<insert a mulitude of excuses here>"
there that pretty much sums it up.

Sometimes you got to know when to call them and when to fold them. You need to call this dumbass's bluff. That's the only way to shut his pie hole.

N/A-T will probally beat you with your mods, it really depends on the drivers though. The single turbo supras are faster than the TT ones. They are the N/A with a single turbo so they still call them NA, TTs have better internals but the N/A-Ts are still faster.
I'd race him anyways because most of the time people are talking out of their asses anyways

The TT motor (2jz gte) is quite a bit stronger than the NA motor. THe big scary-powerful single turbo'd monsters are for the most part TT's where they've scraped the factory tiny turbo's and thrown on a bigger single.
you wanna have fun, try finding one with upgraded twins....
