Coan coverters for TH400? Who is running them...
I saw a 9" steel stator 4000 stall going for around $950, I might buy one, anyone running one of these or something similar, any good deals goin on for them anywhere?

Well I have a feeling my current P.I. which is brand new is garbage, slipping, sapping up power, etc......
I'm gonna use it regardless for the next dyno session w/the new combo
Then I'll make my decision off of that

i just ordered a neal chance converter... i know you asked about coan. just want to keep your options opened. Derty is running a NC.
Try giving them a call with your info see which one will best fit your needs.

Both Coan and Neal Chance are great converters. These power a lot of the big dogs that are in the door slammer classes and I don't think you'll go wrong with either one. I'd defintely call and they'll take all your specs and suggest a stall.

Brian, there is no guarantee that a Coan would work better than your Precision.
When I did my Yank 4200 I got it used but freshened up for $500 shipped. I think if you want to go cheap then go cheap but if you spend upwards of $900 you should look at what the best is out there.... If I got a new one I would do either Yank, TCT, or Neal Chance.

Exactly....no guarantee. All you can do is buy one and try it out.
Coan is a very good company to deal with if you go this route though. I just got my TH400 setup that was built by them with their converter also...what little i have drove the car so far.......Its awesome. Never ever going back to 4L60.......ever....

I'm not looking to prove anything and don't have any FI experience. Just suggesting Coan makes some great converters and trying to help fellow racers

Coan is a good converter. We use on in my friends Super Street car that ran 7.38. Carl Rossler does like their converters and recommended that to me as one choice as well. I already chose a NCRC converter at the time, so it was a non issue. A one piece NCRC is around 1100 dollars or so last I checked.
I'm very pleased with my Neal Chance, so much so that I bought a second one (completely different size). Harlan also has a Neal Chance now that he's running an auto.
