Default Breaking the World Record Fastest LS1 8.97 1/4!???

I was speaking with an engine builder about building my engine and try and break the world record of 8.97 Not sure whats going to happen for sure but he brought up a good question and i need your help, whoever can calrify it; does it matter if you use more than one power adder. example; Twin turbo VS singoe turbo or nitrous and blower setup vs just nitrous. Is a 2 power adder breaking the rules or as long as the car is streetable and you run what you brung?? I did not think it mattered since a power adder is a power adder and either of these combos put together or by themselves if built up right can break it. Your help is appreciated

if you run quicker than 8.97 how many power adders you have will be the last thing on peoples mind. people would even if you had a turboin direct port nitrousin non street drivin 400+ci beast machine (that is if you ran 8s )

The record is an ARE car.
Silver Bullet, why beat them when you could join them!

It’s going to take more than a motor for where this record is going. Try a full chrome moly tube chassis with a race weight under 2,200 pounds. This is not my venture but someone I do business with. All I can say is these guys have two cars, one started off as a street car and the other is a full on race car built from the ground up. The race car is as serious as a PRO 5.0. Good luck anyways.

A side note:
Maybe there should be two Worlds Fastest LS1s.
1. Worlds Fastest LS1
2. Worlds Fastest LS1 *** with stock suspension (LOL)

i dont think a tube chassis would qualify

i could put a ls1 on a broomstick if i wanted to and run fast.. thats not the idea

Would love to see you pass tech inspection with an LS1 powered broomstick at the track.

Hey sled, I like ARE and a buddy of mine just became a distributor. But I am thinkng why not go with something different. 2 Turbos are costly, but beastly if done right and different in that class who are trying to break this record Thanks for the response, ARE jams

Funny someone mentioned the tube chassis car... Awhile back I half-heartedly considered the same thing. There was a Jerry Bickell built Firebird chassis for sale (essentially a pro stock chassis, weighed ~2400lbs. w/driver and iron headed BBC). Probably would've hauled *** with my motor in it.

What do they consider stock suspention? Do subfram conectors count or trailing arms or what? Would the trailing arms have to replaced with stock ones just for the record, I guess so right?

We won't put the EFI on it, but it sure will still have the spray. Only thing I'd even need to find at all would be the headers.

LT1 1963 Corvette?????

W/ a 2100lb raceweight Mid-High 7s should be no problem.

In the end though it really is just not the same as a real car for me.

He had a 735hp, SBC in it. The car weighs 2400# with him in it and it ran 8.4x @ 157 this past season.

Im sure that there are motors around here making MORE power than that.

800hp+ LS1, 2400# chassis... low 8's high 7's? hahahahaha
