Default New best for 6-speed Z28..3700# raceweight too ;)

I go to the local track here all the time(beech bend) and maybe I make 10-15 passes a year on street tires..finally, after having the car for 2 and 1/2 years I got realistic times for it last saturday..I was nervous as can be since I always run street tires so my first 2 passes I launched 3000 grand and ran two 12.90 passes..next 2 passes I launched at 3500 and ran 12.83, 12.81...well, brian patterson(UnbelievabLS1 on the board) gets there and he's the man with these 6-speeds so I decide to let him run since I'm new to this launching game so he gets in the car..he starts moving seat all around and doing crazy things then he grabs my purse and throws it out of the window.. my makeup, tampons, and everthing else falls all over the concrete..I bend over and start picking all of this up and he's like no brian, you see, that's the catch, you have to loose all of this if you're gonna launch this car so I let it be..Well, he launches the car like it's supposed to be at 4500 rpms at clicks off this time..

r/t... .631
60ft.. 2.008
330.. 5.366
1/8... 8.153
mph... 88.58
1000.. 10.556
1/4.. 12.598
MPH... 110.84

I was very suprised and happy at the same time..so I decided to make a couple more passes before going home..I try a launch at 4500 and...

r/t... .488(oops)
60ft.. 1.977
330.. didn't show
1/8... 8.221
mph... 88.41
1000.. 10.631
1/4.. 12.669
MPH... 110.84

that made me feel better cause there for a second I thought I couldn't drive for crap so one more pass and I dump it at 5000

r/t... .522
60ft.. 1.913
330.. didn't show
1/8... 8.135
mph... 87.38(clutch stuck for maybe second and a half after 2-3 shift )
1000.. 10.566
1/4.. 12.611
MPH... 110.84

Mods done to the car is...air lid, ftra, hooker longtubes and y-pipe through cut-out, asp crank pulley, ported maf, cartek clutch, and double diamond subframe connectors and stock 3.42's..only weight reduction was no spare/jack..it's fully optioned car.. there's definately some tuning left in the car but it's running decent..
I was pretty happy for the car since it weighed 3700#'s with me in it and the same weight when he(patterson)raced since we both weigh 230 and the runs were made on bfg275/40/17 drag radials..temp was cold(40-45???) and the track prep was horrible..my previous best in the car was numerous 13.1@108 with 2.0 60ft's launching at 2200 rpms..btw, sorry for writing a book on this too

I am right there with ya! My GSC's are down to the last few thousand miles before I replace them and they are very slick. I am going to get some ET Streets here pretty soon. I am looking forward to having some traction

Man, I hadn't raced in so long, I thought I had lost it! The car felt really good going down the track man, and I guarantee ya that we could have got 12.4's out of it.

Beech Bend's MPH always seems wierd. I've got at least 10 slips from there with a 109.23 MPH, and 3 or 4 at 110.84.

Edit: Cant spell

yeah all three slips say 110.84 so I think something may have been wrong and that mph may be a little low also but that doesn't matter to me

Actually, at Beech Bend, with the weather conditions the way they were that day, his mph was low IMHO. I've pulled 112 there with no more than the mods below, and average 110-111, so he's right about his mph being a lil low. I feel it should be more in the 113-114 range myself.
