Default New HPE "S" cam!

We at HPE have just finished initial testing of a new monster gorilla LS1 cam! And the results look promising!

We put the NA-S (aka, the "S" cam) into a bone stock 99 Camaro SS. Stock this car put down 306 hp, and 317 ft lbs of torque. After our header/intake/cam package, this car came alive and made 422 hp, and 384 ft lbs of torque. Not bad for a 99 model. In a 2001-2002 car the numbers should be about 10-15 higher, and LS6 heads should really lay the smack down.

The cam is on a 115 lobe seperation, and peaks at 6400-6500 rpm. Idle is very tame sounding at 800 rpm. Power is up everywhere over 2500 rpm compared to stock.

Here's a video of it idling at about 1000 rpm.

Here's a video of it making a pull.

Dyno graph of the pull...

This cam should fit mildly milled heads, but like any other large cam, you'll want to check to be sure.

Price will be 399.95 once it is released.

Also soon to be released will be our new "R" cam made for nitrous. We're still testing, but the results are looking very promising!! Ask jruss on the board how he likes his It's a little smaller on the intake side, but about the same on the exhaust as the S cam.

No, I wouldn't say that. Lots of performance shops don't give cam specs away. It takes a lot time to develop a good cam, so we don't want to just give our competition our recipe before we even have our first shipment. Probably later on they will be released, but for now they are not.

All everyone needs to be worried about is what it does at the track. Specs mean nothing. Nice Number Chuck! Will probally see you Tuesday for a few tweeks on the tuning.

No but it took quite a bit of research to fit everything in and NASA engineering and various NASCAR engine builders were consulted as well as all the top guys in F1 so I think it's a bargain! The truth is also tiny changes may be made as to updating the profiles vs springs etc and we need to protect the time we have in this stuff. Or anyone else can get some springs and cams and start measuring and running stuff on the dyno and street and then after quite a bit of time you'll know what you want too! Just joking but it takes more work then some know to make sure this stuff works (the specs are easy to come up with but that isn't 10 percent of making sure it will work) when you are pushing the limits as far as P to V or valve float etc. In the end people cam measure ANY of these cams anyway if they know what they are doing. You can figure out the recipe to coke and make your own too if you really wanted to and you'd save tons and tons of money.

Just in case anyone took me seriously obviously only NASA helped us not NASCAR or F1 really.
