C5R block and C5R heads, fully built 427....daily driver....
Will it be good for a daily driver?
RWHP and Torque possible on something like that made to be a daily drivable set-up?
I know all about the cost of those heads so there's no need to bring it up

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure since the C5R race team deems them fit to use on their baby they are the best around, that they're worth every penny. I'd sure as hell use them if I had the money. Which leads me to my next topic....need anyone knocked off? LOL

Don't forget the custom intake you will need too, so add another $2500 to the bill. We make a 427 package with a C5R block that makes daily drivable 550 rwhp using LS6 heads and a FAST intake. Using C5R heads is just wretched excess, but if you can afford it, why not?

You'd need full custom pistons to accomodate the chambers of the C5R head wouldn't you? I dunno, they could be available off the shelf from Mahle.. Assuming you didn't want super high CR so you could run pump gas. They have ultra tiny chambers if I recall.

Hello Quickin,
I've researched this setup for one of my customers in the past. We could build you a setup that would work great. Basically it would consist of C5R heads setup for a Hyd. roller cam, dished pistons to lower the compression to 11.5. This would be a killer setup for the street. RWHP would depend on how big of a cam you could live with. But I would estimate the RWHP thru a 6-speed to be in the 550 to 600 range.
As far the price of the heads I can do a set of C5R heads for you for around 6,500. If you are interested give us a call.

The head castings are not that expensive, its all the machine work that has to be done to them.I've heard they"ll flow over 400cfm!!!!And parts add up too!You could run a Kinser F.I. set-up that would be cool!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The Kinlser intake is about $6000, and fits the C5r heads.
(I think you need longer trumpets on a street car, and I have no clue how that would fit under the hood)
Then you need two custom airboxes and ducts to the front.
You also can't use the stock computer anymore, so figure a couple thousand for a new fuel injection system.

In all seriousness, I would use AFR 225 heads and hog the **** outta them.
I am sure there are a couple tuners on here that could get you around 600rwhp using those heads and a hydraulic roller cam and definititely over 600rwhp using a solid.
Unless you are racing professionally, I think going with C5R heads is a bit of excess.
