Default Which milestones will be accomplished next year

I guess this sort of goes along with Harlan's thread but what do you guys/gals see happening on the strip next year?

Will we see a 10 second N/A internally stock pass? An 8 sec N/A pass? 9 sec N/A 346 pass? How far into the 8's will we go? Could a 7 sec pass happen?

I'm pretty sure everything I listed will happen with the exception of a 7 sec pass(maybe next year) My low ET for next year is a 8.29 Now who's gonna do these things? I have an idea on one of them

I expect a 8 second N/A pass, and I wouldn't bet against a 10 second stock interal N/A pass. But, I don't think a 9-second 346 N/A is gonna happen, or any type of 7 second pass. I expect the quickest run to be a nitrous car in the 8.4x range...

What huge change is taking place that you guys expect to see guys drop 3/4's of a second in N/A cars in the next 11 months? I don't wanna sound like it can't happen but, what makes ya think it will with such conviction?

ITs easy to explain why we will see more jumps in standards in the following year. Until this year, most of the LS1s out there were still considered "street" cars. There were very few hardcore all-out race effort LS1 cars then, but we will be seeing more of them as time goes on.

9's with a 346ci WILL happen. Stock Eliminator LS1s are already running low, low 10s with 346ci and unported heads. Its all about suspension setups, raceweight, and engine setups. You really only need about 465-475 rwhp in a lightweight car with a perfect suspension setup to run a 9 second NA pass. A high compression, solid-roller 346 ci "race" built motor should be capable of that, especially with a sheetmetal intake.

Also realize that the majority of fast LS1s out there still run an OEM LS6 intake manifold. These intakes flow 280 cfm or so. My ported heads flow 335 cfm!

Just think, 3 years ago, people thought a 400 rwhp heads/cam LS1 was the ultimate setup. 3 years ago, there were only 6 of us on the net running LS1 11s NA repeatedly. I was the only 11-second NA 6-speed at the time LOL. People even accused us of spraying nitrous to run high 11s with heads/cam back then.

My how times have improved! And they are only going to get better....

I dont think you'll see NA 8's for a long time without a crazy low raceweight (2600 pounds) and the PERFECT setup. I think Colonel will hit around 9.40's NA in his new setup. 7's power adder is a LONG way off. Maybe someone will build a C5R motor with a 2700 pound raceweight and spray 1000HP on top of it to the high 7's but it is a TALL order.

Harlan should have some sick numbers out of his car soon

Looking at KECHME's setup, if he doesn't blow it sky high, he will possibly run 9's on a stock bottom end car with all that giggle gas he has

I'd say a few more FI cars will run into the 9's. A close friend of mine may be one of them. He is not a regular on this forum. Harlan will be there for sure, and I think his car is a 348 cid.

I hope to have my raceweight somewhere in the neigborhood of 2700 by this time next year and the setup will be as perfect as I can get it. I'm NOT predicting 8s within the year but I will certainly be dissapointed if 9.4s are all I can muster.

Stay tuned!

Without giving away too much, I will say that we are working very hard towards this goal. I really don't think it is going to be that hard to achieve based on what Angie's car is doing with her present combination, as long as she can drive it!

Well guys, Im not saying a word. Lets say that LG Motorsports is stepping up to the plate building an F-body. What, how much, where, how, and when will all be released at a later date. The tubing is already ordered, and 80% of the ducks are in a row

I'm gunning for deep into the 9's/high 8's by the Thunder Shootout next year. But i still gotta check off the self-set "9's in a 6 speed" goal.

Then a new trans combo

I think a 3000 pound raceweight GTS SS Style solid roller revved to 7500+ rpm leaving off of the transbrake could acomplish this. Realistically Gordon's car was going to run some 10.40's@130 in the -1500 D/A like we saw down here last week, as he ran 10.66@128 in 1000 D/A. He was damn near 3400 raceweight with an m6. -400 pounds + A4 with transbrake would have to run in the nines.

I can think of 3 or 4 LT1 cars(yes Rob, yours is one of them) that could be pushing bototm 9's/high 8's by this time next year.
