Pretty good numbers. We've seen as much as a 10rwhp gain from a ported t-body.

Nice numbers Greg, you must be happy to get the red beast back. (it's an M6).

A ported TB and a UD pulley will definitely give you more power, I think you can pick up 5rwhp from the TB for sure, and 5-10rwhp from the pulley, not counting what you will get from the new motor breaking in...

Nice numbers, I would definitely go for the UD pulley and the throttle body for some extra hp. Also do you have a cutout?

Thanks guys. I think I am going to call Larry and ask about porting the TB Friday.

Vince, it is a m6

PSJ, probably wont sleep friday night in anticipation.

Mike, no cats, no cut out. No one makes a test pipe for C5s as far as I know.

I forgot to add my sig in the original post with all the details

What do you guys think it will mph at the track?

I've added a Bauer TB and a QTP Electric cutout since my last dyno. I'm going to dyno this Sat. with the cutout closed and open to see what I gain with each.

Not to be a jerk here, but I thought the GTP/TR 224 combo was a tried-and-true ~440 RWHP/~400 RWTQ combination. I remember that at one point, I was SERIOUSLY considering this very package and I could swear that it was turning out bigger numbers than these... but I could easily be wrong, and need to go fill my prescription for those memory pills, those, aaaahhhhhhh, whatchamacallits...

Like I said, I'm not trying to downplay your numbers at all, I just thought that I remembered average numbers for this package being a bit higher, is all.

I understand that with the stock crank pulley and TB there is some power left on the table, but 40 RWHP is a lot to make up.

On second thought, perhaps those 440 RWHP figures that I (think that I) remember were with open headers....

In any event, congrats on getting you car back... 400 RWHP in a Vette will go much further than it will in an F-car!!

Default GTP S2 & TR224 dyno results

401 RWHP
385 RWTQ

First off I want to thank the crew at Speed Inc for a job well done. Thier customer service is top notch. Larry, Tom, John and April have been very helpful though the whole process.

I am pleased with the results, Larry and I expect the engine to get stronger as it has time to fully break in and once we replace the dino oil with synthetic oil. We think 10 HP would be a conservative guesstimate.

The fact that I dont have a ATI /ASP pulley, or aftermarket TB may also hold me back a tad. I have no cats but my exhaust is a B&B touring type and probably does not flow all that great.

My question is: Should I hold the revs down a tad since I didnt go for the ATI damper? I plan on shifting at 6700 to 6800 rpms depending on how I cross the traps.

I cant wait to pick the vet up Sat. Speed Inc is having a dyno day and plan on having approx 30 cars on the rollers over the course of the day.

Greg

It requires ALL of the right bolt-ons with good tuning. I few things to keep in mind is that I believe that from his first post this is a fresh engine and he missing a few mods as well. I would say that with break-in hp and the rest of the bolt-ons that another 30rwhp would not be out of the question, not to mention that Vettes dyno a little lower. Would you agree?

Atleast 3 of us in this area have a very similar setup (some are autos that calc out to around this number if they were M6 vehicles (in theory anyway)) with similar numbers.

Also compression and all the right parts are a big factor. Are they 5.3L or 5.7L heads and are they milled?

I am not saying 440ish is out of the question at all, but I think expecting that is a bit much.

By the way nice numbers Chubby, congrats!

Mike

Pretty good numbers.... but there's definitely room for improvement. If I were you, I'd change the combination a little bit to more proven products (Dynatech LT's/different cat-back exhaust) and also get some of the other little things (pulley/ported TB) and you should be up there with everybody else.

Now... just out of curiousity.... why do you have 42.5lb injectors?

IA, I told Larry to go ahead and port the TB.

Burnout, It was through full exhaust. I have a good flowing touring exhaust, but still probably more restrictive than a sport exhaut. With my mods I expected 410 to 425 HP. I think with the TB, break in and redline I will be knocking on 420s doorstep or close to 430 with a pulley.

Paul, I think C5s suffer slight parasitic loss from our IRS, that makes it fun on the twisties.

Brownie, I have 5.7s not milled. Cometic gasket, not sure which way this might infuence CR.

Larry said they would try to throw it on the dyno this PM. What do you guys thik the TB will add? Any ideas on the CR?

thanks
Greg

The TB netted 8 HP and 6 TQ to raise the grand total to 408.4HP and 391 TQ through full exhaust. Add a pulley and 420/400, with break in that puts me at 430/410, right where it should be. This set up pulls like a MFer and puts it to the wheels very well.Only problem is I have not mastered letting the clutch out yet, but things are progressing well, Larry also said that he would do more tuning after break in.

What rear axle ratio would best suit my set up and MN6?

I got 423rwhp thru 5.7's milled and full exhaust. I don't know if it makes a huge difference, but this was last july and it was honestly 97* outside and really humid. I would like to re-dyno now after 5k miles to see where I am at.
