Thumbs down Blown up 2 Yanks in the past 6 months

The first one was a PT4400 that grenaded on the dyno, now my PT4000 doesn't lock up at all. I've checked everything possible tuning wise that would cause lockup issues and everything checks out. The converter does lock, but it slips its *** off while its locked. The converter also makes a nice big whine when I get on it, sounds like a blower but louder. I'm done w/ Yank.

So now what? I've had a Midwest and it was great but didn't perform too well at the track. I'm considering TCI or Vig, but I know both of them aren't as effcient as the Yank. I love the Yank performance, just not the quality. Any suggestions?

BTW, anyone wanna buy a cheap PT4000 that needs a lockup clutch

A very popular converter with the B-Body guys is Edge Racing Converters. I have seen zero problems with them and run about $100 cheaper.

TCI is the way to go right now, I would send the yank back to kevin at TCI and let them fix it , they will hook you up..

Yeah I was considering that, just like someone else on this board did. The thing is this PT4000 is still under warranty but of course I can't get ahold of anyone at Yank.

Default Yank

I got a e-mail from Yank and they said they would handle my warranty Re-stall after the end of AUGUST PT 4000 's are on the build list so should be available soon.
I have a converter lockup issue also .
Driving in 3rd for now.
I guess my only complaint is why the move in the middle of the season.
got to go when the sun shines .
Good Luck
I don't see any problems

I had TCI repair my Yank when it failed. Call Kevin Winstead (662)224-9355 at TCI. You can also PM him here.

FWIW my TCI repaired converter has performed much better than the Yank built converter did in the first place.
