Default dyno results :(

ok, dyno day is over. My numbers werent impressive at the least. I put down 300.8hp/308.4tq then 301.1/348.9 then 304.6/315.9 . On the way up there my car starting acting funny im quessing do to the wreck last week. it started acting like it was trying to die at idle but when you gave it gas it acted all right. My air/fule was 12.1,12.1,12.3.

So i left and took it to autozone and im throwing a code p0102 which means my mass air flow input is lower than expected for the current engine operating conditions it says?

I will post my graph asap. compared to the other fbodys one stock had a a/f of 13 the ws6 with most same mods as me has a/f of 14 and all 3 of there lines were smooth were as mine jumped around everywhere. What is a good a/f ratio?

On another note we had several fbodies there.

One 99 z28 M6 with lid and cutout put down 317hp
A ws6 m6 with same mods as me except he had true duels put down like 337/350.
One ss was putting crazy numbers but i wont ruin it for him i know he wants to tell about it and a z06 was there putting down like 365/349

i think your numbers are ok.

dont expect to much outta the smooth bellow, k&n filter and free mods maybe a couple rwhp. remember your car is a automatic and automatic's dyno less than a m6.

I don't know what the jumping is from but your A/F is a little rich. You want it around 12.8-13.1 I believe. This could be robbing you of some power. That could be from your LT and ORY install. Try to find someone with Edit or a MAFT and see if they can get your A/F up a little bit. That should help some.

Please don't add your illiterate comments. His needs to be around 12.5 till right after his peak torque then lean out to 12.8.

Your numbers flat out suck. Go buy a stock maf and that should solve your problems. YOu should swap out the garbage stock plugs for a set of NGk tr6 plugs.

This weekend I think i will ask my buddy to swap maf w/ me for a few hours and see if the idle returns to normal. I tried cleaning it like jaber said but im still running .3 teths slower than before.

Oh, btw, How many horsepower would it take to gain .3 tenths?

Red99z28 whats the best time u have ran?

My best is a 12.77@110.8, however, i cant get better than a 13.13 now.

Notice in the 2nd run the tq is high 340s, thats kinda wierd.

With your mods you should be in the 350's. For .3 you will need at least 30hp. You need to run that maf for more than a few hours. Run it the entire weekend, go to the dyno on monday and see if it helped out.l

What would he gain by putting in TR6 plugs, those are colder plugs usually used on nitrous cars. I would say TR55's.

He would gain the fact that a cooler plug equals less detonation. The tr55's are garbage. I trying to help him go fast not slow like you.

First of all, Unusual T/A, it's time for your medication. Can you respond without flame?

Secondly, the TR555 plugs are not garbage.

Lastly, the Aftermarket MAFs do tend to respond less favorably on A4s, so I'd start there. Then, eventhough the first one is costly, go get an LS1 Edit tune. They're usually good for 10 - 20 hp anyways. Good Luck.

You can argue all you want. The fact is a cooler plug equals more power. Until you're fast I don't want to hear it. Tell it to Helen Keller. Your cam only numbers are terrible. What you don't realize is that power is about the combo.

Unusual T/A:

Not to hijack this thread but since your dishing out constructive criticism; what all looks $ucked up about my setup besides the lack of tuning?

Also, I agree on changing the plugs but didn't know that a person could run TR6s on a N/A engine. I've been thinking about running a small dry shot and putting in TR6s--I guess I can get a head start and put them in. I still have the FLP cheapo Y-pipe soon to be subsided by dual cutouts. I'm running the stock maf that has been descreened placed into a ABS ported MAF housing.

The stock descreened maf is perfect. I would ditch the ported maf housing though. I would switch to duals over the cheapo y and cutouts. I and a lot of the texas fastest have always run tr6 plugs n/a.
