Default bearings in oil pan

Started changeing my oil today, took out the oil plug and have 25 (1/4 inch or so long) bearings stuck to magnet. Never noticed any noise or differance in oil preassure. Any suggestions on where they came from.

It sounds like a rocker arm may be coming apart.

Is that probably what it is? Is there any other things it could be?

yea those rockers are the only part that has those kind of bearings in them. in matter of fact GM accually has a bulletin out on the problem. pull your rockers off and replace the ones that are comeing apart. or better yet, replace them with adjustables.

I would like to thank everybody who took the time to help me with my problem. Pulled a rocker out that was definitely the problem (now i might be able to sleep tonight). I only found 25 needle bearings. I belive there is 33. How should I go about finding the rest?

Or in my case they were jammed in between the rocker arm bolts in the mounting bracket. I would pull all of the rocker arm out and remove the mounting bracket then inspect all of the holes. I had 2 holes crammed packed with crushed bearings.

My stock rockers started dropping bearings around 25k miles. Replaced with Yella Terras.
