Default 11.8, RX8, Porsche Cayenne S - Killed

Despite the downpours all over S. Florida last night, I ventured an hour and a half due North out to the track and found it to be the only place down here that was dry (yet, surrounded by storm clouds- reall shitty air).

So, for the first time ever, I found myself to be the first one there and got a freshly prepped track for 10 hot laps all for myself (along with some imports).

I nailed down a few 11.9's, then an 11.883 @ 118.43 on a 1.792.... 5k clutch dumps rock!

I was damn happy with my runs (wasn't expecting much) and luckily my time board was not working, so the 11.x runs went unnoticed, so I left after spending only 1/2 hour there.

Cruising on the way home, I noticed a new RX8 merging on the highway, accelerating full-out, and noticed that a fly-by was about to happen- I dropped to 3rd, eh, flyby shutdown quickly.

Stopped to get some Tex-Mex to bring home to the wife and got back on the highway with a Porsche Cayenne S in hot pursuit. He punches it at 70 mph, pulls even to my door, I dropped to 3rd and put a buslength on him while I slammed 4th, shut down at 105, slowed down to throw a thumbs up and the young dude wouldn't look over.

All in all, one very pleasing night. I think I can nail an 11.5 @ 120 in the Winter with good/cool air.. my new goal.

Sounds like a nice night!

What's your raceweight? Your 60' and your mph are pretty solid. What about powershifting? It's possible to cut 11.50's at that mph with that 60 footer.

No powershifting, but my shifting has improved greatly.

You'll pick up 2mph and drop a few tenths by powershifting.

!floormat and driving shoes have helped also.

Unit, define "powershifting" as you know it.

Powershifting = keeping the gas pedal mashed to the floor while shifting. Depress the clutch pedal just enough to disengage the clutch and quickly shift into the next gear.

People say that it's hard on the syncros, but I don't buy it. Just don't miss any gears. I've been doing it forever with no problems. You THINK that you shift fast, but you really aren't if you're not powershifting.

BFG Drag Radials (they're on the car all the time- daily driven) on stock wheels. At the track I bring them down to 16-17psi.

Love the 9". Posi. 31 spline axles (33 would be better) with 4.11's

I guess the BFG's hook decent with a 5k rpm dump?

But I believe good track prep is the key.

Sounds like you have a pretty solid setup.

What's next on the agenda?

Spray or more in the heads?

Next would be an intake. Either LSX 90mm or the new BBK 85mm which I've been keeping an eye on. The BBK should be out next month and is supposed to be around $450-$500 (much better than LSX's price).

100 shot (wet) will probably accompany the intake.

If I lose to a neon anytime soon, the 100 shot will go on before the intake.

Yes I did. Thanks.
Timing (in terms of mod funds) is a little off on my end though, but I appreciate the gesture.
