Default Would the G5X2 cam work be ideal for a 402? If not, what specs to go with?

Tossing around the idea of going with the SLP 402 pkg, keeping my Cartek heads, but not sure if I will gain the full power of the 402 with my G5x2 cam (232/240 595/608 112 Lsa)

What other cams would you recommend?

I would say you need to go bigger. Call Futral Motorsports and ask them what cam they suggest for your car. They will set you up with the best cam for your 402.

Yeah too small, that would be a baby cam in that motor. Get a custom grind from a builder to set that 402 roarin'!!!!

Well, the GX52 was considered "too agressive" for an A4 stock block, but I thought it was perfect - it was agressive as hell and I love it. people know you are cammin' and it sounds and runs great

so would would be ideal spec's for a 402 stroker - 250/250 range???

Not too many off the shelf cams for 400+ cubes. I think the G5X2 is a little small on the intake side for the amount of air that a 408 will suck in. a 250/250 is big even for a 408, but is doable for sure. A 408 in the dyno section just set the new standard for 408's. It has I think a 243/250 and pulled over 560rwhp. The cam I have for my 427 is bigger than that. Mid-high 240's and low/mid 250's is about the range you should look at. Depends on what you are setting the car up for and how streetable or lumpy you want it. And over .600 lift for sure as long as you have a good set of heads. You could get the best opinion from your head porter.

I have cartek heads, so they should be able to handle a larger cam with the correct springs, etc. I dont care how lumpy it is, I mean the G5X2 I have now is pretty damn lopey
