I am about to order 28" Mickey Thompson ET Drag slicks. What do you guys run, the regular sidewall or the stiff sidewall?

Thanks,

I think the tire you need is the 672-3055S 28x10x15 is for a stick Hot Rod. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I run the 3066ST M/T slick now it is 30x9x15 made just for a stick Hot Rod. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Good luck to ya. <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" />

Justin, I'm running the regular 3055 (non-stiff sidewall). I may try a 3055S once these wear out, but I'm not sure. I believe Allan runs the same tire I do, but Joe is running the S.

What, if any, are the differences/launch characteristics, growth rate, stability, ect.. between the 2?

Hmmm, didn't know they made different ones. I bought mine slightly used from BeaSSt when he changed slick sizes for the Thunder Shootout.

I do know that there are tubes in mine. I had Hoosiers with their stiff sidewall and they hooked pretty damn good and felt really stable on the big end.

i also want to know that Chris. how much more stiff are these and how do you people hook on them if the softer sidewall helps on the launch? i have the regular ET drags and they feel pretty crappy going through the traps

Justin, M/T recommends the "S" tire for those with a raceweight over 3000lbs and in a high horsepower application.

You are all are cuttin damn good 60's, but Joe and Tony have heavier cars. Does sidewall stiffness relate to vehicle weight? Would a heavier car prefer a stiff sidewall tire and a light car run a regular wall? What I am trying to get at here is the theory behind sidewall stiffness?
