Default 98-02 Camaro Nose -> 93-97 Camaro?

Hey guys. I've had the priviledge of driving my friends' '02 SS for a while and then I got to drive a '96 Z28. The LT1 has plenty of grunt (even stock, it seems), the car handles like the '02 does (he has the '02 ZR-1 rims on it) and those cars are a LOT more affordable for me than an LS1 car (my budget is whatever I can get for the Firebird in my signature). There's only one problem with them, IMHO, and that is the nose. I dislike the modernized 3rd gen look of the front of the car and was curious to know what would be involved in getting a 98-02 nose on an LT1 4th-gen car. Has anyone done this? Is it even practical, or is it a lot more work than I would imagine it to be?

look on eBay or search for an Fbody salvage company. I have seen complete front clips for newer 98+ Camaros on eBay often. Popo is correct. You do need to change the hood, fenders and supports as well as other little things.

Look at all the costs of converting the nose over, and add that on to the price of the car, then compare that to buying a 98 Z28. If you're looking at newer LT1 Z28s, chances are the price difference won't be that significant.

True with the cost of conversion. I bought my 02 Z28 fully loaded with 2,500 miles on it 3 months after it was built and paid $17,500. Now I see 98's for $8-9,000 all the time. A conversion to a newer front end alone with paint and parts and time would most likely be in the $3,000 to $4,000 range. Take in account the price the car and your in same or above the price of one with a LS1 already.

I have a ?..are Transams..rarer tahn Z28's cuz when i go to ebay...theres always like 8000 camaros for sell numerous pages...and theres usually like 12 pages.of firebirds...and nearly none are transams...

and when i go to...autotrader in my town within 200 miles there are 3 pages of..firebirds and 21 pages of camaros..

so my ? is ...were More Camaros Made TOTAL...in 98-02...than the Firebird...or is it just a coincidence when i go to autotrader no one is selling there firebird..and when i got o ebay..no on eis selling there firebirds...

I don't get it even dealers around here in kansas..i know of 3 firebirds within an hour and a half and i know of about 17 camaros within an hour and a half for sell...

it just seems like...i rarely see other firebirds on the road...but i always see camaros is it a coincidence...or am i on to somethign!!!...comeon peeps i need some production numbers

There are more Camaro's out their than Firebirds and Trans-AMs. The Camaro was cheaper and outsold them. I'm not sure exactly by how much and I'm sure it varies by year. I think however there are at least two Camaros for every Firebird or Trans-AM.
