So how many of you are going with the SLP 402 package?

Isn't it an iron block? Personally, I'm not a big fan of iron blocks due to the extra weight. The only way I would go with an iron block is if I was building a drag queen and was planning on running a whole lot of boost. My plan is to just forge my block and maybe have it stroked this summer. Next summer I'll go FI.

i am going with HPEs or APEs 408 blocks. For about 400 more bucks you get clevite bearings and H-beam rods.....plus i have never been a fan of slp.

I tried slp for their 420 hp package .It was junk and the sales manager in Troy Michigan was an a$$hole.I think his name was mark shickel.I wouldn't recommend anybody going to slp.

I've certainly thought about it a lot, but I think that I'll just pony-up for an MTI 427 block, or just build a stroker out of my motor. The weight factor is an issue. I'd love to talk to people after they have ordered, installed, and driven the SLP 402 package. If the overall opinion is positive, perhaps I'll change my mind on the direction I want to go. $3,500 aint bad for the 500HP payoff!! But, I've also been really looking at the new Vette. Sure is purdy......

Please also note that SLP Performance Parts (based in Toms River, NJ) and SLP Engineering (located in Troy, MI until it closed earlier this year) are separate companies entirely.
Finally, we'd like to invite all of you to check out our new Web site (www.slponline.com), which made its debut late last week. We think you'll find it to be superior to the old site in every way.
Regards,
Team SLP PP

Sorry, I'll never buy anything from SLP.
Maybe a used D/D exhaust or 2OTL.
And their MAF for $300 looks like a good deal. They say it gives me 20 RWHP. They wouldn't lie to me would they?
Where do I send my $3500 check to?

I am nicer to SLP because they sponsor this site. I have some of their parts on my car. Loudmouth, driveshaft loop. I think people would bash them way less if it wasn’t for all the extremely optimistic power gains they advertise on their products.

I'll never buy another thing from them. THe customer service is horrible. They sent me a broken fan switch. When I called them to send it back and get it replaced, they told me I had to buy a new one. The piece of **** is over priced anyway.

I've had a complete opposite experience with them. When I spoke w/ my SLP rep he said I'd put down somwhere in the low 400whp range with the H/C setup. He did mention I'd need to get some LT's,pulley,tb,filter, exhaust, and normal boltons. I'm putting down 381 now through a stock exhaust, cats, and shorties. As soon as I put my LTs ,exhaust, pulley, and tb on I think I'll be right about where he said.
I'll be ordering my ZL-402 from them and using my H/C package along with the rest of the boltons I've aquired.
