Default Killed My First '03 Cobra

I drove up on some street races one night. I had never been to the races in this town before so I was just there to check things out until I started hearing people talk about some '03 Cobra that was "taking out LS1's one by one." This was when the Cobras first came out. Then I noticed how most of the cars were Stangs. I wanted to see this Cobra in action before I tried to challenge him but no one wanted to race him. The night was getting late so I told my 250 lbs buddy and my wife to hop in the car so we could leave when some guy asked if I wanted to race his friend's Cobra. "Bring it!" was all I said. I was running high 12's at this point but I figured the guy couldn't have that many mods since the '03's had just come out. Smoked my NIttos and we're off. Damn charger was whining like a baby. He's got me by about half a car when I throw it into 3rd... C-YA!!! Smoked his *** in an LS1 with about 360 lbs worth of passengers. Gotta love that LS1 top-end!!! I couldn't wait to turn around and do my victory cruise through the crowd made mostly of Ford freaks but the damn cops spoiled that. No one got busted but it spoiled my plans to brag.
It takes a little more than a super charger to make a Mustang run.

Should be trapping around 110 and looking for mid to high 12s..I would say a stocker should be a good race. Im in the middle of nowhere...its not like texas up here Modded cars are harder to find than stock ones.

haha, thanks.. Dont worry I only race for fun.. so its not like my ego will be crushed if I run into a modded snake (I only know of one and I wouldnt bother racing it for 2 reasons)
#1) It should rape me
#2) The driver sucks!!! and I know I can beat the driver.. so its a waste of time because (See #1)

Btw, just thought I would add this.. I should make anywhere from 330 to 350 (yeah..350 is a stretch..I know) on this setup and my race weight (if I had a full tank of gas) is under 3500lbs Im still full interior but I dont weight jack myself, and I was just over the 3500lb mark (officially weighed) before the A/C Delete. So a stock 03 puts down relatively 360~370 rwhp stock (if im not mistaken..feel free to correct me) but I have a ~300lbs weight advantage. I think it should be interesting. Feel free to addin anything I may have been misinformed about. Its all for fun anyway.

i think a stock 03 cobra vs. your z would be a close race, but id think the cobra would prevail.

110mph huh? Not too shabby. That's stock '03 Cobra power so it would probably be a good race. mid 12's means nothing more than traction really.

Dont I know it. LOL..but enough to keep the race close from down low. I know messing with a DOHC, well breathing motor with a roots blower is a hell of an ordeal. A few guys on CamaroZ28.com have had great results from this cam with stock heads and programming. If I cant get over the 110 hump...Ill just throw a few hundred into the heads That should do the trick. Dont worry when the day comes... win or lose.. ill make sure to post the results.

It'll take a good driver to run 110mph in a bone stock '03 Cobra. Honestly, there aren't many out there. I'd give you the edge...especially from a dig.

I heard the 04s had some stuff done from the factor. Are they running slower than the 03s now?
