Evo gets owned Finally, I have a decent race. 
I've been itching to race lately, but haven't had anyone bite for a long time, so I was pretty desperate. Anyways, on my way to my g/f's house, I ran into some guys I know at a stop light. As soon as I pull up to the light, they rev at me and I return the gesture. 
They ask if I want to run, so I agree and tell them to follow me to the freeway. The car was a red Evo with some of those huge *** stickers on the side, didn't look too bad, but not my cup of tea. We finally get on the freeway and line up at about 40 mph with me in 2nd gear. He honks, and I give him a slight jump. It takes a while to get into my powerband, but once I do I pass him quite easily, didn't put too many lengths on him (about 3) that time due to upcoming traffic. I let off at the middle of 3rd. Next round, we slow down to 30 mph and this time I honk. I put her in 1st, and honk 3 times. 3rd honk comes and we get a pretty even start. As I wind out 1st without traction, I slam 2nd and start putting some lengths on them. I shift into 3rd and gain some more. By the time I shifted into 4th gear, I was ahead by about 8 or so car lengths (hard to tell exactly how many due to the distance). I slow down and exit at the local movie theater and they follow.
We shoot the **** a while and ask what I had done to my car. They even told me my car chirped 4th gear (somehow I doubt that though). The Evo was stock except for "intercooler piping". The car apparently ran a 12.4 in cold weather, but he said it was running 13.0's in the crappy weather we've been having lately. So that was my first encounter with an Evo. What do these cars usually run in the 1/4? It felt pretty good to finally race someone. Hopefully I won't go too long before I get my *** handed to me or hand someone theirs.

We have a local Evo that's cammed and boosted pretty heavy. Rumor has it as a 11.20 car. I'm racing him heads up next weekend after my new trans is in. We'll see what happens.

Nice kill on the EVO, I wish I was at sea level, I want to run one of those too. Just being up in Denver, it will make those little turbo cars faster then me. Nice kill though.

Thanks guys, I hope I run into someone willing to race so I can have another kill/death to post soon.
Yeah, his name is Tino. I live in the Mission area and go cruise around McAllen on Thursdays sometimes to look for races. Last time I went to the track, I was running 12.4-12.6.

Dude he is bullshittin you. Car will not run a 12.4 with IC piping, no way no how. The upper pipe is good for about 5 HP. He runs more like a 13.7 with that setup.

I am racing this Saturday. Tuner told me high 11's should not be a problem, so I guess we will see. It has gotten quite fast. Taking stock turbo to the limit then I will strap on something bigger.
