Default what cam for this?

hey guys i have always liked that rough nasty lobe idle of fast old muscle cars.
what cam or combo would you need in a ls1 to duplicate that off-idle mean sound?
but still be streetable everyday. is there a fine line??

thanks for any info.

you pick a cam based on application, not sound.

if you pick a cam based on sound alone don't expect it to perform as well. not that it won't, but like it was stated you should really choose the cam based on how you want the car to perform and what other mods you want to add later. Do a search. there are several cams that sound awsome and will work with a stock setup

i would say, if ur just going for sound, get the Hotcam... it will need tuning to be perfectly streetable, but so will any big cam... hotcam will go easy on valvetrain, unlike the big cams, and is reasonably priced... u can make big cams streetable, and make alot more power, but u will need to spend more on better springs and other hardware...

any cam on a 110 or 108 LSA should make all the choppy sound you want. Just wait till youre trying to ride the clutch in traffic and it is surging its *** off.

The GMPP ASA cam has a mean idle.
The cam I use lopes pretty hard too.

Look for: big split duration & LSA in the 110-112 range. 108 would be killer.
