Default 10.29@127.61. .Stock bottom end LT1

I went to Island Dragway yesterday...what a BEAUTIFUL day...

I only got 2 shakedown runs in (track was packed).

Run 1:
I took this run REAL conservative...short shifted..and had a little brain fart on the 1st to 2nd shift (shifted from 1st to 2nd..back to 1st..then to 2nd... I felt like an a$$...how hard can it be to shift a 2 speed <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" /> )
60':1.475
330:4.350
1/8:6.773
mph:103.04
1000:8.822
1/4:10.569
mph:122.62

I waited @ an hour before I attempted my 2nd pass.

Run 2: Still pretty conservative...short shifted.. dropped the window switch to 6600 & ran outta juice at the end of the run on 900#
60':1.403
330:4.179
1/8:6.506
mph:109.17
1000:8.546
1/4:10.291
mph:127.61

The 2nd run felt real strong.... The car definitely has some 9second passes in it..

I have to give some major THANKS <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> to MADMAN (brian) for his help in figuring out my ignition issues.... you were right...I changed the opti, gapped the new plugs at 32, and threw in an MSD 6AL...and VIOLA... no more break-up above 5800 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

The major mods so far are...

**Heads (stage III..ECS)
**BIG cam
**strange 12 bolt
**TNT 150 shot (single stage-wet)
**K-member and suspension mods.
**Slicks (e/t drags..28x10.5Wx15)&skinnies
**Powerglide (4800-5200 stall+transbrake)
**A bunch of weight reduction

Thats about it for the MAJOR mods...but there are a crap load of smaller ones (ie..longtubes, MSD..you get the idea)

""fantastic times!! that car is flyin'!
is it a solid roller or hydraulic?"" It's a Lunati hydraulic..(242/252 @.050 w/ .560/.576 lift on a 110ls/108center)

""what gear ratio are you running?"" 4.11 strange 12 bolt 31 spline full spool with pro axles.

""what does the car run on motor?"" I don't have any N/A passes on it with the new cam.. but the old cam ran 11.71@113 (I would expect the new cam should run substantially better)

""do you have a website or any info for the ECS heads?"" I'll e-mail the link to the website.

Kevin, nice runs. How do you like the power glide? What first gear is in the tranny? What rear end gear are you running?

I have a Rossler built power glide. I haven't used it yet but I am anticipating good things <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Again, nice runs,
Tom <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Sweet times. Congrats! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I would also like to know about the power glide. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" /> 1st gear, rear gears and tire size. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Tom and Coach...

I had the glide built by someone locally for @1600.
It has a 1.76:1 1st
I run a M/T E/T drag out back (28x10.5Wx15) on 15" weld draglites.
The rear gears are 4.11.
The converter is a LOU's 8" race converter. and was included with the trans.

I have to say that the glide conversion (while kind of a pain) was my best mod to date. I kind of wish I had done that converion by itselfd to see what it netted me.

The only draw back to a glide is ya can't get any REAL dyno hp #'s...but it's worth the trade off for ease of use and consistency.

There's no feeling in the world like comin' outta the hole @5000rpm on the transbrake <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Chris..

Thats the one sacrifice I had to make with this setup..by NJ laws it's definitely not street legal. No cats and EXTREMELY loud (I pegged a 135db meter). The full spool/skinnies up front would also make it difficult to turn at anything over 20mph.

JS:

Not sure what it runs on motor yet. I'll be running N/A in Super E/T on Saturday... I'll post the results.

Fenris:
Those were my exact words to Jim Cook.. His response was "How big of a shot you runnin'?"..I said "150"..he said "Thats not a shot....now 500... thats a shot"... Then he said "in all seriousness, with a 200 shot or less, this cam would be perfect."

I had to go by his word and experience(0ver 40 years of comboin' race cars.

It's one seriously lumpy cam, but it really pulls hard up top... and thats what was lacking in my last cam.

We gave up some torque... but with the juice, I had plenty to spare.

Whoever decided to put Easter on a weekend needs to reassess their priorities <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> ... **(For those that don't recognize sarcasm...that was the best I could muster)

I make that statement because all my family is retired to different parts of the country and I had nothing better to do than race this weekend.... and Island was closed (their schedule said they were open... but the website said no)

Anyway... no new numbers till next weekend <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

But I had some time to put a little site together on tripod with some pictures...let me know what ya think.
