Done myself a small bit of researchin' about my ignition probs
Is it VATS? Who knows? I haven't noticed a security light. What happens is...First! I must start out by sayin', this is a sporatic problem. Sometimes I can get in the car and it starts up perfectly, other times not so perfectly. Imma thinkin' that it's not a problem with the starter or wires or any of that business. 'Cause when she decides to crank, she cranks with the best of 'em . One thing I've noticed is that whenever you turn the key over just before starting you can hear the fuel pump ready itself. In these instances, I can't hear it do that. Could it be my fuel pump. I'll be sure to watch for the security light. I'm thinking if it doesn't show up it's my pump. Would I get a code with that though?

Yeah I'm pretty sure all that's in check man. Replaced battery a year ago. Like I said sometimes it starts perfectly others, it doesn't even crank...but if I wait and try and turn it over a few more times it cranks and starts like a champ.

If you can do that with HPTuners I might let you do that as well as delete EGR and AIR for me so I can get rid of this damn SES light.

Then I am going to guess that your starter is in great shape, too? How is your flywheel? How's your ignition switch? What about the cables?
Just listing some other causes to a problem like that

before paying someone to look at your car, try this simple swap..could save you a lot of time and money...
pop the fuse box under your hood that has the starter and ignition relays,
next just simply swap the 2 relays, and try and start it, if it starts try in about 6 or more times and if it starts you had a bad ingition relay...
happened on my car..took me a while to figure it out and i overlooked it at first..

I just had the same problem. I removed the relay and bypassed it with a wire. It worked fine. Then I switched the relays around and it worked fine. Major headache.
Check the purple wire that goes from the fuse box starter relay to the siliniod. if you are not getting current at the siliniod the relay is bad. You can by pass it for good if you want.
