Did you remove the driveshaft and try sliding the tranny backwards?

The block and bellhousing are aluminum and the dowel pins are steel. This combination creates corrosion in the pin area which makes it hard to seperate. Carefully wedge a large screwdriver or pry bar on each side to 'break' the bellhousing loose from the block. When you reassemble use some anti-sieze on the dowel pins.

Also, double check everything. I have made plenty of bonehead mistakes by simply overlooking something.

Alot of people miss the top bolt dead center on the top. And like mentioned the dowel pins could be corroded to the alum.

Good luck and let us know how you make out!

The first time I had to remove my trans it was stuck. After enough prying on it, it finally came loose from the dowels.

When you are prying it apart, leave a couple bolts in. Just run them down a couple of threads so that the tranny doesn't fall on you when it finally breaks free.
