F10 vs F11
My car is an A4 C5 with Cartek Stage 2 heads 3.73s and TCS 4200 and all of the bolt on's. Which cam would give the most performance, which would have the better driveability and finally which would be harder on valve springs? Also which valve springs would you install with these cams, I currently have Rev 1116s on my car that have about 5k miles on them.

I was listening to different cams on LS1sounds.com and I couldn't believe how smooth the FM11 idled (although it was only one car that I listened to with it). It seemed a lot smoother than all the 224 cams which are milder...go figure....
The one thing that concerns me about the F11 is the really high lift, thats why I might rather go with an F10. Has Alan ever said what the power difference would be between the two?
I know FMS cam's are pretty highly praised but arent they also known to be pretty hard on the valvetrain the way he grinds them??

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I am under the impression that this (aggressive lobes) is how FMS gets more power and better drivablilty than others.

yeah well Alan may say that but how do we know for sure. Nothing against Alan but obviously someone will be biased towards their own cams.
Lets face it, there has to be a tradeoff to making more power with a better idle, b/c if it was that simple all Cam makers would be doing the same thing..

i say get an f13, it has a little higher powerband that might work better with your stall. it does have a high lift though, .595,.585. and regardless of which one you pick i would recommend the PP golds. good luck

KB, no offense but you don't know what you're talking about here. Allan uses Cam Motion lobes in his cam grinds, which i thought was a commonly known fact(or maybe i just spend too much time on the board?). what is also commonly known is that Cam Motion lobes are softer(read : less extreme) then Comp's XER lobes. Futral is the ****.

On the F11-F13, approx how high an RPM do you need to spin the motor to in order to hit max power before shifting????????
I previously have run a TR230 & was spinning the motor to almost 7K & ended up smoking the motor (thats not the sole reason, but I prefer not to spin that high again until I go forged).

There's all his cam specs. Allan's cams don't need to run to 7k like the Trex and MS3. Well, not his smaller ones anyhow the F13 is a great all around cam that won't tear up your motor and still make gobs of power all over the place.
