The superhawk hood is slightly higher than the firehawk hood in the middle area. There's also a superhawk outlaw hood which is really raised. Glad to see another satisfied US Exotics customer (I have the WS9 hood and love it).

God I need those wheels.

How much is the hood? And after doing so how much would a quality paint job cost to get the hood painted. After viewing the last few posts on the WS9 hood and this hood I am almost ready to hit the purchase button......Like I said trying to get a feel of how much getting it painted would cost. TIA!!!

Well the hood was about 650 shipped to my door, you pay freight charges to the driver of the delivery truck... so you already save $200+ as opposed to going with Suncoast for the "Raptor" hood which doesn't have the heat extractors. Sell you hood to a local junkyard for ~$100 and you come out at $550ish

As for paint, well, that's totally up to you... I know a guy in Austin, TX here that does show quality paint on hot rods and old school muscle and he pretty much hooked me up... Front bumper clip, rear bumper clip, hood, and fenders, fully prepped and painted for $950... if you just want to get the hood done, I'd suspect anywhere b/w $300 and $500 would be a fair price, but someone could do a real shitty job for that much, or a real good one, just do some research locally...

Facts about the hood:

-Fully molded from fiberglass, weighs 31 lbs. (as opposed to my stocker TA hood 44 lbs) - Yes I weighed them.. lol

-Hood does not come prepped so post-cure time must be factored in, just drive around with the hood on for a week, let the heat from the motor raise any imperfections out of the mold, and then have your body shop block and sand and primer... Don't want bubbles and lines to form under the paint and show through FOREVA....

-Comes with grilles installed, non-removeable, all ram hoods are debaffled so it's straight shot intake

-~6 week wait time for the build

If you want query him more, ask for Roger at *edited* , he's a solo man operation pretty much so don't be discouraged if it takes him a day or two to get back to you, he's very courteous and truly wants to do FABULOUS work for you... I had a great experience with him as many others have! Also, search "US Exotics" on here for other testimonials and for his webshots link, he has other styles of hoods for the bird as well!

*non-sponsor email removed.

mmm... totally up to you, most paint shops have a bake booth too so they can heat cure it as well... But your engine bay heat, if you drive daily, should get up to at least 120 degrees even in cold weather... BUt then again I know you guys have some SERIOUS cold weather... lol... up you, a body shop and paint shop should be able to heat it up for you too, just depends on how much downtime you want... Otherwise you could just leave the car running for an hour with your garage door open! lol....

That looks awesome !!! I have talked with Roger about getting one of those here soon. I sent him an email and he replied the very same day, and asnwered all my questions. He has been a big help in having me decide what I wanted, and been nothing but totally honest.
