I used to run a Comp 228/228 cam.I have TEA 5.3 stage two heads.
With a A4/steel driveshaft/ford 9 inch/28/1050/15 ET Drag I made 403rwhp and 377rwtq. That was convertor locked.

see i was also shooting for the almighty 400hp and i was almost certain that a 228/228 would get me there, especially one from Allan Futral Ive just been seeing the 224's making better power and now im starting to question my decision. To brief you all, Im out at sea on deployment and have pretty much based all of my parts by what seems to give the best power or that is atleaset consistant in doing so. I dont want it to be a dyno queen and i want it to shine at the track, but Id like to have nice numbers too

I swaped to a F13 cam. I dynoed with a new convertor unlocked and dynoed 380rwhp and 363 rwtq. This was unlocked TCI covertor. I'm pretty disappointed so far. I'm getting a new TCI convertor and I'm going dyno it locked. I think my current convertor is bad. I'm also down 5mph at the track.

i just got off the phone with Candy at Furtal. She was very helpful. From what her and Allan recommended that is was a good choice for a 1st cam and for what i was looking for. The numbers she threw at me didnt seem too bad either. I will end up getting heads later so I think it will really shine then. I just hope that Im one of the ones that get luck with this cam, if not, Ill get a bigger FMS cam down the line.
LS1 BU: Was that your #'s with the cam and heads? Those are way low! do you have updated #'s?
Magred2001vette: what other mods did you have on your camaro?

Those are new numbers. Only thing I changed was going to the F13/and crane springs and convertor. I hope the convertor is the problem. When I get the new one I'm gonna lock it on the dyno.

I've seen a lot of these larger cams and they all tend to idle about the same as long as you have a GOOD tune by a professional.
