SS vs Boxter S .... girl looked surprised
After an hour of cruzing(getting beer etc), at one of the last red lights before my house, i get pole position with a boxter.
I look over and its a ~40 yr old lady. She smiles. and i do the same.
Green light its on.
She bogs in first...i heard nocking and pinging (maybe she didnt use premium gas)...
I spin in first.... so actualy no one gains a lead in first gear.
When i hit second, its all over for her... i pulled 1-2 cars instantly and didnt even have to hit third, the look on her face was priceless when i flue by her.
one for the Camaro

Needless to say when I found out I wasn't impressed.

Well I wouldn't call them junk by any means. From what I hear they handle great. Its in a very different class than our cars....fun small peppy excellent handling little roadsters not built for viscious acceleration.

I remember a write up of a regular boxster where they added a catback, cold air intake and tuned it and it STILL made UNDER 200rwhp. I was like uhh and this is a porsche? Not impressed.

"Porsche" doesn't and never did automatically equal blazingly fast. It does however usually mean nice quality, status and great handling/cornering.
There's a guy I talked to who roadraces and autoX's a 2000 Z28 with Koni's, springs, swaybars etc etc. He said he drove a stock boxster and it handled amazingly and made his fbody seem like an SUV, even with those mods.
The boxster has it's place. Trying to drag with an LS1 is not it. Personally I am glad the lower end Porsche's arent that fast. Let's not antagonize them, lol. With this freaking Fast and Furious turbo revolution nowadays with $20k SRT-4's running the way they do, I'd bet Porsche will start to give them a little more kick.
