Talking Nice touch in the header collector....

Just got my Stainless Works headers in today and noticed something I've never seen anybody else do, can you find it?

Cool, but I'd rather have the velocity spike.

Nice, any other full pics of the SW headers and Y pipe at all?

Yeah me too, even if it really didn't do anything the spike just looks cool.

how much did all that run you??
are they comparable to kooks/qtp? i havent seen much about these headers, but if they are as good, and maybe cheaper than kooks i may go with them instead

I don't think they're as good as QTPs or Kooks but close I'm sure and I think they're roughly the same price...I'd still go with the more proven QTPs but the one thing I do like about the SWs is the 2.5" collector into 2.5" Y pipe for a stock internal/bolt on only car (although it does look like that step from the primaries to the collector is a bit 'abrupt'), the smaller piping offers better body/ground clearance and might work better in lower power output applications, or might not.

They also use the stock y-pipe connection to the tranny mount; helps for eliminating y-pipe banging.

They are actually in the same price range as other high quality SS headers. Strano sells the header and y-pipe kit with cats for $1099 plus shipping. I am impressed with the quality and workmanship. 02RedHawk and glennhl both have them on their cars and are impressed with the fit and the ground clearance, especially with the 2 1/2" collectors and pipes and helped me decide to get these. I agree with LS1LT1, the quick reduction of the primaries to the collector does look like a bottle neck, but I hope not. I'll find out in a few weeks.

Have you all seen and held the stainless QTPs and Kooks up close enough to really be able to compare the two, do the SWs really appear to be just as well made as far as the cut/straightness of the flange, the welds of the primaries to the flange and to each other and down into the collector etc? All strong, good looking stuff I assume?

I have no experience with the other brands, but do know these are quality pieces. My neighbor welds and works on heavy machinery for a living and that was the first thing he noticed was the nice tight clean welds and the quality of the headers. I will try to get some close up pics of the flanges tonight.
