Street Racing & Kill Stories - Messed with a Z06, surprise.

Driving along a 3 lane yesterday, a Z06 pulls into the next lane in front of me. I say what the hell, dropped, behind him and came up close. As expected, he takes off :devil: .

I decided simply to stick behind him due to our lane being the only one clear, so we gun it for a quick 40-80 romp. I stuck to his bumper like glue and had to stay at about 80% throttle to keep from running into him.

At the next light I pull up next to him, he lowers the window and yells "I LIKE THAT! I couldn't pull you at all!" with his girl as passenger looking over with eyes wide open. I yell back "I'd rather have THAT" pointing at his sweet ride.
He asks what I have, I tell him "Heads and Cam, and I wasn't into it full throttle". He nods, seemed very surprised and went on his way.

Nice run...To bad there wasn't any more open road... :cry:

A stock Z06 is a nasty car...my friends runs 12.0 @ 117 with a Varram, lowered one inch, and everything else stock, down the tires. 1.70 short time on a test-n-tune track with no prep. Nothing else stock with an air filter can run those times, except a Viper with a REAL good driver. Hope the new Zo6 has a 427 and 2800 lbs...that would be just silly.

I was at the dealer this morning, drooling over the LeMans Edition Z06's they still have on the lot sitting next to the new C6's.

I didn't get Jet Hots- I forked over some $$$ and got the QTP High Velocity Merge Collectors, along with the QTP dual elec. cutout Y pipe (has a kick-ass 4" Merge), then a SLP 2OTL.
I love the sound more than the duals. The QTP HVM LT's seemed to have given me some tq on the low end also.

Spec III took a dump also, so that's being replaced.

Could not seem to pull a link to see how you did last night! I did register though. I will probably come by your location today to intro & stuff. I also plan to have y'all reprogram my pcm when I get the cash....BTW Lic Plate BadZO6 claims to be the owner of House of Speed here in the H Town area.....Don't know if you know him or not.

Duuuuudddddddeeeeee!!! Tried to download the Windows Media player necessary and the darn thing would not work. Anyway, Went be the shop today and met a couple of the boyzzzzz.... Was given the tour and found it to be a great place. Now, I need to save my pennies and I plan to get the re-program asap... Also learned BADZ06 does not own House of Speed anymore. Evidentally, shut down. Still want to find the guy and run again. That is after I have y'all work on my little, simple Firehawk. Wish I was making Thunder & Clash of the Titans coming up. I understand there are a couple of the carz from the shop going. Should be a real exciting and fun time. Hope y'all beat the Fastest F-Bod 1/4 ET... Good Luck!

It's a good 20 car turnout at least (Mustangs, Trucks, F-bods and Vettes).

If you're asking me what I sixty, it's usually high 1.7's, low 1.8's.
As for going out to kill a Cobra, that's not my style.
Now if he would happen to pull up next to me at a light or on the freeway or ask me politely to run..... :devil:

Nice kill Carlos. You should cetainly put some pwer down with those new headers and other misc. Can't wait to see the dyno. I may have something for you after the Vette is done! I can't believe the Spec3 is toast. I am wondering what clutch I should get to replace my stocker on the Vette. See ya next Monday.
