A 3" cutout will fit fine in a stock I pipe. I have a used Flowtech for sell at $20 plus shipping if you are interested.

I don't think that you'll find any 2.75" cutouts. Your best bet is to go with a 3" one. It should slip fit very nicely.

How exactly will it slip fit? My stock I-pipe was 2 3/4" O.D. Isn't the flowtech 3" I.D. ????

Don't worry, I've had 3 different 3" cutouts welded into my stock I pipes on my 94 and my 01. The 3" cutout slips right over the stock I pipe and you just weld it in.

I have two Z28's and both have stock 2.75 inch I pipes. Not sure where you got the information that they have 2.5" pipes.
