I was challenged .. you WONT believe this An old friend of mine that I havnt seen in a year or so called me today and wanted to go to lunch. He knows that I have allways had fast cars but never rode in any of them for some reason.
He got a new car this summer and he took me to lunch in it today. He saw my 98Z (351 rwhp) with 3200 stall converter, in the parking lot and starting talking how his new car could kill mine.
He has a 2002 Chevy Impala.. V6.. bone stock. He is delirious. He has been driving a 4 cyl hyunda for so long that when he got this V6, he really thinks that he has a fast car.
He said "your car is a 98, its old, my car is newer technology.. all fine tuned" he is DEAD serious.
We are going to race after work tonight... 40 up to 100, or whenever a lead car puts at least 2 car lengths on the loser. HE thinks that he will put 2 on me by 90 or so.
The loser filles the winners gas tank (I am at 1/8 tank :-) and also buys dinner of choice.
He wanted to race for 1000.00 at 1st.. he is truly out of his mind.
I posted on SVTPERFORMANCE.COM that I was looking for a street race.. prefereably a stock 03/04 cobra, so what do I get? a 18 second Impala.
So am I a humanitarian for lowering the stakes to gas and food ? or am I still a bastard for taking that from him?

He needs a lesson. I say put a good 10 car lengths on him before you back out of it, just for punctuation.

yeah i would toy with him then get him to go double or nothing its good not to be my friend

Ya, I am almost in "awe".. I couldnt beleive that he actually thinks that he is going to outrun me. He OBVIOUSLY isnt a car nut... just a guy than went from 90 RWHP up to about 150 RWHP and thinks that he can own the world.

Blow his doors clean off, then be a friend and have some wood screws ready to help him put them back on! Don't toy with him. He needs a real idea of the trouble he is asking for!

Like others already said, blow his doors off and don't let out until you think he's done tryin. That is if it's safe to do so and whatnot. Since he's probably not a car guy, he probably won't realize you're toying with him by creeping back and forth next to him. He'll probably end up braggin about how you couldn't leave him or how he kept catchin up to ya. Good luck, be safe, and post the results when you're done please.

Try and see if he will run at a little less MPH so you can get a 1st gear downshift and walk him reeeeely bad right off the get go....either way you will murder him but you know that downshift to 1st gear is wicked!!! With my 3:23's I need to be under 30mph to get a 1st gear downshift so if you have 2.73's you just might get a downshift around 40mph. Post the kids reaction!!!
